Hey guys! I'm going to piggy back on this post - I've been talking to Will much of today about this show, and Justin Kobylka referred me to Will and this show.

For those of us who try to do a Birmingham get together a couple times a year, how many of you would be up for doing this weekend instead of May?

I'm actually pretty excited about this show, and I'm hoping to man the USARK table for this show. This will be the first date for this show - I think it's going to be 4 x a year, right Will?

I've already checked out LaQuinta Inn where we like to stay, and we could stay at Cahaba Park Circle like we do for the Dixie Reptile show, or we can stay a little closer to this show by staying at the Homestead LaQuinta (for about $10 more a night).

So - let's get a roll call and see who thinks they can try to make this show and want to make a weekend of it? I think Karl's going to drive up from Pensacola for it, and Ed's making noises like he's going to come! LOL

Oh - and Justin Kobylka will be vending at this show!

We're going to try and have a table there if not we'll at least try and show up..Thank you Will and Justin for the heads up.

That's right....we're shooting for a quarterly show. I'm also working on getting a vendor discount rate at the local hotels, courtesy of the Civic Center. Will keep you posted...

For vendors who are referred by USARK or BPnet: A portion of your vendor table fees will be donated to the USARK!!!

So long as my hubby will be in town that weekend, chances are excellent that I'll be able to make a trip of it. And greatly looking forward to it, too. Absolutely no disrespect to Terry and the excellent show he puts on...but it'll be a nice change of pace to see a new venue with different management!

If I can make the trip, I'll definitely help Robin man the USARK table!

Definately no disrespect to Terry and his show!! He is not having a show in March. We often vend/attend his monthly shows. We just couldn't pass up the opportunity to get Justin to Alabama LOL!! :D

Man, I would love to, but we are going up to Columbia two weeks before that, and Im not sure right now it would be in the budget to stay somewhere over another weekend two weeks later, but I'll keep you all posted.

We just wanted to say thanks to Robin, JKR, USARK, and everyone else who plans to attend or vend at the WARE!
We also want to send thanks out to William and Mark at Port City Reptiles! They have invited us to their show in Mobile AL this weekend and we are going down Saturday to check them out. If all goes well they and some of their vendors will vend at our show and help us support the USARK and our industry! Props to these guys for their hospitality :)

Hotel discount bids are still coming in for march 26/27 and we will update everyone as soon as we get it in writing! Lol

I want to, but I had already made arrangements for Columbia before I knew the dates to this show, I have to deliver an animal to Frankie in Columbia and I had already planned on meeting some people at that show as well, so I can't back out there, Im looking forward to it! lol. So its going to be pretty difficult for us to make two shows in a month, not only money wise but getting someone to take care of the animals again right after the other show. Im not ruling it out, just doesn't look good. :(

So far, so good, for me. I talked with Dean and he doesn't know of any business trips scheduled for that time. :gj:

We still havent gotten a response back from LaQuinta, me or Angie will be visiting them face to face next week to see what they will offer.

Quality Inn Birminham has a bid of 49$+tax/nite.... but they are wanting a minimum of 10-15 rooms... Also still working on Bids from other hotels as well.

There are several vendors from La and Fl that probably will be staying the nite on the 26th, but its taking some fast talking to try and get a good deal without a confirmed set number of rooms.

Just another lil' tid-bit.... as things keep coming in :D

2 things....

1. I need a roll call for each person that will be needing a hotel room, vendors and folks who are coming just to enjoy the show. IF any of you GREAT people are sharing a room, please state that in your email so that you are not double counted. I have emails from the vendors that are not on BPnet, but I need a combined total. It will need to be pretty accurate. The hotel bids are holding at 49$ nite plus tax... but we are still pushing them ;)

There are several hotels that are within walking distance of the Civic Center, but because they are so close, they are not wanting to discount any prices :(
And most of them are not pet friendly. So...
La Quinta Inn Homewood and Quality Inn Birmingham are both around 9-10 miles, about a 10 min drive on the interstate. BOTH of these hotels are pet friendly :gj:

2. One of the Door Prizes/Drawings that will be presented at the show by Vyper RTS is a.... 22" Flat Panel monitor!!! (Thanks Jim :D )

Wow, I was so happy to be able to make it with you guys to the show, then find out today that my daughters schools spring festival is that weekend, and we had already volunteered to help out that weekend, so it looks like its a no go for us, and we really hate it. I hope you guys have a blast!

I didn't get a pic of the inside today, it was full of stuff where they have been getting ready for another event. I will get one this weekend. Hopefully it will be empty and you'll be able to see the entire floor space :D

Not a vendor but I can't wait to come to the show! Any word if BhB is gonna come? Any Ratsnake vendors?

Brian can't make it but is still going to try to get the shout out on SnakeBytes before the show date. Not sure what everyone has but I know at least two vendors that should have plenty of colubrids. :D

Sweet dixie can't wait for the show or to see those colubrids. Fingers crossed someone has something on my list :):) :gj:

Hey dixie can I bug you with another question? Are you gonna have cage vendors there to? Like vision maybe? I've really been looking for good cages but they all take so long to ship. And I don't know anywhere local. So I figured maybe the show would have them.
