Random Art

I haven't posted much on here and thought I'd put some of my art up. I made both things last year while teaching high school art. The box is painted with cheap acrylic paint. The head is carved from a block of sand with a special bonding agent mixed in. It was my first attempt at carving anything and I decided to make a candle holder that looks like a stylized version of myself. The dark picture is to show off how the head looks with a candle inside. Let me know what you guys think, open to any comments or criticism.

I figured my wife would post the pics for me but we're both having trouble getting them on here. Until I figure it out I have a couple pics in my member gallery. Should have it solved soon.

Someone has to have an opinion on these pics. I'd even be happy to get some criticism.

Wow almost 170 views and no comments. For a site where everyone seems to be full of opinions this is a very quiet thread. C'mon people I'd rather hear someone say my art is awful than nothing at all. And i refuse to believe that I'm the only nintendo fan on here. I've got some more random art if anyone is interested, a couple custom masks and a comic storyboard.

Not a huge fan of the box but i love the sand sculpture. Are you looking to make any to sell? I would love to have some of those in my shop!

I hadn't thought of making any sand sculptures to sell but I'm not against it. I actually have a bunch of sand blanks hanging around the house right now. Any idea what you'd be looking for?

I went to a flea market, and someone took a block of sand, and carved my name into it. It looked amazing! Then he added a heart to the end, and spray painted it blue. It looks so cool.

I really like the sand sculpture, and the tool box. I have a Nintendo, yes, I am a video game freak :P

Kids these days don't appreciate good NES art

Nintendo 64 was the only game system that I ever liked. Your art is really good, but I have to say, the sand block is awesome.
