I got bit.

I went in yesterday evening to check on the snakes and decided to take out my new female spider (09 200grams). She seemed fine and really calm. I had her wrapped around my right hand and was talking to the wife. Next thing I felt her start to curl up tight on my hand. As I looked back at my hand to see what was up she decided to just chomp down on my pinky... It was a very slow leisurely chomp. Like hmmm I wonder what this pinky tastes like. She latched on good and had to take her to the sink to get her off.

Anyone had this happen to them?

I always thought my first bite would be from a strike. :snake:

lol Welcome to the bite club. I have had my little ones do this. Doesn't hurt but it is surprising.

That is exactly what our 5' female did to my hubby.

She just opened her mouth, placed it over his wrist, and closed it again, all in slow motion.

It's a good thing Bp's don't have teeth like a retic, or it would have been bad. As it was, by the next day you couldn't even see it any more.

LMAO I have seen this a lot in Kingsnakes they will be calm while being held, then decide to start to try and eat a finger.

I know those bites well in most cases it like hey this is smaller than me and I wonder if i can eat it..

It only happened to me twice from a female Pied and Male Het clown (both very young at the time of the chewing incident ;) )

This is usually what you can expect from a newborn. I'm surprised an older snake would do this. I guess your finger looked good and he just had to have a bite. Either that or he was trying to give you a BP kiss.;)

Haven't had my balls do this, but my corns have always done it at least once. Silly snakes <3
