    Piercings
A tattoo/piercing place here in Richmond has an apprentice there who is doing free piercings while he is still in his apprenticeship. So my husband and I went there last night and each got an industrial. I used to have one but had to take it out for surgery. It feels so great to have it back. The guy was great and really knew his stuff. It hurt a lot less this time around. My husband and I are thinking about going back and getting more piercings. I figure they are free, and if we don't like them we can always take them out.

So show me your piercings (none of the naughty ones of course :P), how long you've had it, do you like it, how long did it take to heal, and how much did it hurt?

i have 27... or around there. But nothing worth showing.

Took my lobes out, was close to 3/4 inch at the time for the lower lobes and had the ones above them stretched as well, but they were all encroaching and I was not willing to get scalpelled, but was at that point I was risking tearing. The others that I can show are upper lobes and conch.

The WORST were the conch piercings. I have 3 of them. They hurt like crazy and the cartilidge takes forever to heal. And the way they sit means they are always "rocking" to a degree (against your skull - and having them on both sides means you need to sleep face down or face up *grin*), so they never feel like they heal. You take them out and they heal up within a short amount of time.

That being said... they are still my favorite permanent piercings of any part of the body (when done right) as it looks like there is a silver ball just floating in your inner ear.

My other top favs are nape and trachea... and uvula. Not sure uvula piercing is still happening, but there was a piercer in NJ that was perfecting it years back and it was all shades of interesting.

Now that I say all that, I recall REALLY wanting to get my chin pierced, but never going through with it... really hot piercing.

Got a picture of my industrial and I'm uploading it now. I've had my belly button done (never again! It got ripped out), my eyebrow (body rejected the piercing and it got infected really bad, had to take it out). I have two lobe piercings on each ear but the backs have closed up so I need to have them re-pierced. The guy at the shop said he really wanted to do a vertical industrial but I'm not sure if I want that done. I told him I'd think about it.

I've had 30+ piercings. I'm down to 3 now (nose, conch and PA). I'm a piercer by trade. :gj:

My lobes were at 1.25" at one point. They're now down to about 7/16" but I rarely wear jewellery in them. Conch is at 6g, it was dermal punched instead of being pierced. Heals up MUCH better and faster this way. My PA is at 6g as well. Nipples were done at 10g but took too long to heal so I took them out.

Ive had my belly button pierced,my eyebrow,my lip,my tongue,my ears of course,my antieyebrow,my nose and now I just have my tongue, lip and recently got my dimples. The dimples werent to bad. The lady made me get the right one done first and go back in a week to get the other due to swelling and the right one didnt hurt but got really swollen but the left one did but it didnt get swollen. I just had popsicles and ibuprofen handy. Oh and if you dont have dimples and get your cheeks pierced than they make you get dimples but if you do have dimples and get em pierced they come out deeper. Im one of dem people who can pull off any kind of piercing lolz

    Re: Piercings
I've currently got 1 1/4" lobes along with ~00g lobes that I'm not currently wearing anything in. I've also got a labret, snake bites, and bridge as far as facial piercings and belly button of course.
My lobes are currently going through a period of hell, it got super dry here lately with the colder weather and both of my lobes split along the inside since they were still a relatively fresh stretch, so even putting lots of vitamin e oil on before bed didn't keep them moist throughout the night. I'm on antibiotics now to try to bring down the swelling and heal up the splits, tons of pain though. Still worth it.
I didn't even feel my labret and actually stretched it from the original 16g up to 14g after 2 weeks of having it because I found a better selection of 14g bars for it. My snake bites were some of the worst when it came to healing, my whole bottom lip swelled up so huge I could barely talk, it was ridiculous. They finally healed up after a few weeks but still get a little irritated now and then and require extra sea salt cleaning.
I think I'm going to have to be done stretching my lobes though, I really don't think I have enough thickness left in them to safely stretch any further. I'm pretty happy with 1 1/4" though, although it's so hard to find plugs at that size that aren't ridiculously expensive. I've currently got in a pair of clear acrylics, but also have some wooden tear drop shaped plugs and another custom pair of a different wooden tear drop shape on the way.
And below are a couple pictures of them all. The top one shows the wooden tear drop plugs with a sea shell inlay, pretty sweet for only $25. Barebones organics has some nice plugs and bodyartforms.com has some of the best of all body jewelry, I order from them constantly.

I've been super tempted to get my cheeks pierced, but I'm lucky to get away with the number of piercings I have already at my job and don't want to push it :)
I've always wanted actual dimples and once I saw that you could get them with a piercing I fell in love. Maybe some day they'll get over the whole piercing thing and I can go crazy with it, or I'll get settled into a career where it doesn't matter.

You're in Richmond? Me too! Well, I live about an hour southeast, but right now I'm stuck at St. Mary's on bedrest until the morning.

I got my tongue pierced on my 18th birthday, so I've had it on for 6.5 years and still love it. I also have two piercings in my nape. Unfortunately I can't find any pictures of them on my computer right now.

When I'm done being pregnant I'm going to get some dermal anchoring done, but I haven't decided where. Probably either my sternum or wrists or clavicle. I'm pretty excited about them:)

I have both my ears pierced.

I got my left ear pierced at 14 g it didnt hurt at all really. I just recently got my right ear pierced at 12g I think there was a noticible difference pain wise. My ear was sore for like a week straight. Still healing its almost been two weeks...

and my ears are at different sizes... my left ear is 2g and my right ear is at 12 g now. My parents wouldnt let me get both when i got my ear pierced. Then i got the bigger gauges and they wanted me to get both. Should have just listened to me in the first place.... :weirdface Now i walk around with a tunnel in one ear and a captive bead ring in the other. I want to get the middle of my bottom lip pierced when im 18. Im not sure what its called. Id also get an industrial.

Im probably going to go up to 0g or 00g im not sure which one yet. I cant find any good 00g tunnels that I like.

    i have 3/4" Lobes, 12g snakebites, and a 6g Septum.:gj:

The lobes, well....took like a month to heal when i got them pierced in 2nd grade.
snakebites took about.. 2 months to fully heal and my septum was a fun story...

but ill estimate it as, 3 months to heal BEFORE i stretched it.

    (pic of 10g septum)

I currently don't have much of anything pierced. Just the normal stuff for a girl: ears and bellybutton. I used to have what is sometimes called a "Maddison piercing" but it became infected and I had to remove it. Well, I was very stubborn about it and had to have it surgically removed by a doctor. It wasn't fun...

I wish I could have it done again but I work with birds and it was a constant battle to keep them from pulling on it. I can't have the back of my neck done either, for the same reason. The only other piercing I've ever wanted is a lip ring, but it's not allowed in my chosen profession. The Maddison was my dream piercing and I am so glad that I can say I did it, and wore the thing for almost a year before it finally had to come out.

(My friend wanted to practice henna on me; hence the snake thing)
    http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...kehenna002.jpg

Now I just have two badass scars there, and I make up all kinds of wild stories about how I got them when people ask me about it. It's totally worth it. ;)

My oldest piercing is my eyebrow(started at 16g, stretched to 14, then went back down to 16 after a year) which I've had since 1999. Used to have my lobes stretched to 1/2", thinking of redoing them, also had my tongue done twice, labret stretched to 8g, septum @ 12g, 10g industrial.

They really did turn out awesome. So wish I could get mine done :)
I also like the madison piercing that was posted earlier. I would just be afraid of getting it snagged and eventually ripped out. I'm hesitant when it comes to any kind of surface piercing or even the micro-dermals because of that risk. I had enough trouble with snagging my belly button and it now being slightly crooked after ripping it so many times in my sleep. And I caught my bridge a few times, but not enough to do any major damage luckily. I've also always been a little afraid of cartilage piercings, something about the idea of the crunch sound/feeling that I imagine just grosses me out. I was tempted to get a dermal punch in the top of my ear, but just couldn't go for it.
After a few days on antibiotics the swelling in my lobes has finally gone down a bit, enough so that they don't look monstrous. Can't wait for the healing to finish so I'll be able to wear my custom wood tear drops when they come in. I really prefer the way the tear drop seems to reshape my entire ear compared to the simple round plugs.

I had tongue for a long time, had to take it out for work. Had bellybutton...it got ripped out..never again. Had cartilage for only a few days before I had an MRI, for which I had to take it out, but it would not go back in afterward. So now I just have two regular piercings in my ears, and two tats.

I have 8 piercings, 6 in my ears (just 3 regular lobe piercings per ear). My first ones were stretched to a 2 at the largest i think.. but i let them close down to 14. I'll restretch when i unpack my jewelry.

I've also got my nipples pierced, at 14g originally. I stretched them to a 12g sometime last year. Im going to stretch them to a 10 at some point.

haha yeah. You probably never will know. Thats how I was the first time I ordered off line. I basically got a set of acrylic plugs in every size from 6 to 2g lol. Now im going bigger. I got most of my stuff in 00g and already im thinking I could go bigger but idk... I guess it would still be good to have the smaller stuff if I ever decide to down size.

I noticed it says like free shipping on orders over $25 with regular mail but idk. I was still charged for shipping.

wow... wish i knew that lol. i wouldnt have gotten it either. (i got the clear one) I didnt notice anything about shipping. But dang. Shipping for it costs more than IT does. I originally only added it so my bill was $30 and i could get a free taper. oh well.
