My Dobes
This is Lily, she has a crooked ear that never stood up. She is 2.5yrs and sweet as a button. I love it when she gets pissy, her hair will stand up on her back just like a cat.

And the new red guy. Sorry no name yet. Suggestions would be nice though. He is 8wks old and just had his ears done on Tuesday. His paws are already bigger than Lily at 2.5 yrs. He is gonna be huge. Just want to find a name that fits him.

Cute dogs! I don't envy you though, ear posting is a drag... ;)
(Okay, it's not sooo bad... but I think I've done too much of it in the past few months for other people, I'm burnt out!)

I hear ya! I am not looking forward to months of weekly vet visits to post and repost. But I knew the deal before getting the new pup, and IMO a Dobe isnt a Dobe without cropped ears. I will be more persistant and patient this time around and I have high hopes for him.
Thanks for all the suggestions but "Zues" finally has a name. So now I am not just calling him "hey new dog" lol!

Re: My Dobes
He has a little zipper up his neck, doesn't he? :)
A puppy from my breeder's latest litter has a looong zipper in the exact same place. I think it's cute, breeder does not! ;) Hopefully hers will lay flat so it doesn't have to be trimmed much when she's shown.

Cute dogs, but you crack me up. Spell check can be your best friend as it is mine. You are the second person I have seen to mis-spell your doggie's name. :D
The name Zeus

Ha Ha! I never realized that. Good thing his Reg. papers havent been filed yet. They will just do like Lily's and ad some roman numerals after it. I dont have a long kennel name and all that stuff so they are just in a long list of random dogs with the same name.
And yeah he has a part on his neck. I think it's cute. I dont plan on showing so Im not worried about it. That's his thing just like the crooked ear is Lily's thing.

Re: My Dobes
I bet you wouldn't be the first in the doberman's registry to have the name Zues.... you'd probably have Zues XLIV <lol> But I'm glad I caught you before they were sent in so you don't feel bummed out later. ;)

Re: My Dobes
How pretty. I have a female American Bulldog named Sheera. Shes pure white with brown tips on her ears with blue eyes :D She acts like a bad little kid hehe. I always wanted a Dobe but they get really big so I just got a miniature doberman pincher. She passed away from a heart condition :( Everybody in my family cried because she always lit up peoples faces except the few people she nipped hehe but here's a pic of my american bulldog http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...ads/Sheera.jpg

It'll be interesting to see what number the AKC tacks on... Zeus is a very common name for dobes, for some reason or another. :)

So sorry to hear about your minpin... losing these wonderful creatures is never easy. :(
One side note - Miniature Pinschers aren't related to Doberman Pinschers at all, they're actually a much older, completely separate breed. Dobermans are a relatively new breed, a little more than 100 years old.
