I cant wait to get back on the road. Ive been itching so bad to take the bike out already. I had it out one day it was warm and rode it for a few mins. 2nd gear clutch up lead to a rolling burnout lol. I hate this cold weather.

Thanks man i hated it when it was stock. I like the all black look so much better. I may pick up a f4i just to stunt for next season but im torn between that and building another g body malibu on spray or just getting the f4i and putting the gixxer on the bottle. Drag racing is a huge part of my life so its a hard decision lol

Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???
Me!!! I just got my first bike last summer! I can't wait till all the snow goes away and I can ride again! I just have a '98 250 Ninja right now. Someday when the new styled Ninjas go down in price I will get one of those. I'm not sure if I'll bump up to a 600 or not though. I rode our friends' new 600 Ninja and it was a little bigger than I like, and a bit too heavy.
It was lowered before I got it :gj: Although the girl before me dumped it a bunch of times and was riding on cracked tires! The crack went clear around the back tire on both sides. Psycho. Oh! She was also really stupid and thought the bike at 42,000 miles on it, but it only had 4,200 miles, so I got it for 700 dollars! Serves a person right for being so stupid.

Yeah it's a pretty small bike. We rode with a friend of ours last year before he got his big boy bike and he rode mine a few times, *I* had to ride the moped . He looked pretty funny on it! I LOVE the new style too! Too bad they aren't made as well :( The one our friend has, has been holding up pretty well.

Oh cool! It does have quite a bit of pep! My fiance says it's slower than molasses and that I should ride my dads bike, a YZF 1000 yeah.....not happening! My fiance rides a 600 Katana. He desperately wants a new bike, but I get faintish when I see the prices, $7,000 for a bike!

I would love to get a bike, but being 5'6'' and 130lbs soaking wet in jeans I think it would be hard to find something that I would be able to control. Not to mention not having any money to buy a bike and the thought of what my parents would do if I got on.

250s are really light manageable bikes. I'm by no means a strong person and I can easily ride my 250.

im your height but out weigh you by anywhere from 20-40 lbs. ive rode many bikes from 954 cbrs to 600 cbrs to r1s. Ive never had a problem controlling any of the bikes. Take your time with it and youll be fine. Start off on quads or dirtbikes and it makes the transition a little smoother. There are 130 lb riders that ride busas and 1ks and all other types of liter bikes with out a problem.

Hmm. Maybe one day I will get myself a bike once I am done with college and all that good stuff. I like the looks of the 2010 Ninja 250R. Didn't realize how light 250's could be so thats a good thing for me.

Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???
Hey, does anyone have experience with track wrap? I REALLY want to buy some pink track wrap for my bike, but no one in my or my dad's group of friends have used it. I want the wrap because I want my bike to sell when I want to sell it, then I can get a new bike! If the buyer doesn't like pink, magic, red and purple again.
This is the website my dad found. http://www.trackwraps.com/wraps.htm The hot pink is my choice :P From my understanding it's pretty easy to apply yourself and if you mess up it's pretty easy to fix if you fix it right away. Does it leave a residue? And does it come off pretty easily? I'm thinking I'll need at least 2, maybe 3 panels to do the whole bike. Unfortunately my rims will have to stay purple  What's with the 90s and their hideous color combos.

dealership i used to work at used to have cars done all the time and lend cars out to the company that did them for demos. they would wrap and un-wrap the whole car several times a day during the demos. it goes on pretty easy if you take your time if you mess up just pull it back off and try again.
ive seen it left on a car for over a year and came right off and left nothing but a clean paint job underneath. only thing you wanna make sure you do if your gonna leave it on for a while is to cover all paint on the body so it doesnt fade uneven.

Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???
I have been on a street bike once in my life. My grandad's Honda 1100 something. I ended in the ditch, but didn't fall. After that I decided to stick to the dirt.
I use to ride motocross but sold my bike when I moved off to college. Here is a pic of me from a few years ago on a 1994 RM125. This was my first real motocross bike. It was Ezra Lusk's supercross practice bike from the year he won the East Coast Supercross Championship. I need to look and see if I can find any newer pictures.

Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???
I wish... Im more of a Harley kinda girl tho. Nothing compares to the feeling. Just decided to spend my money on snakes instead lol. There does happen to be a 70's model Sportster sitting in my garage at the moment. Unfortunately its not mine and the consequences surrounding it just makes me sick to look at it.
I haven't been on a bike in a couple years :(

Ha ha.. My pleasure :) I mean come on, who doesn't like a Harley? So much more comfortable on long trips. Try riding your crotch rocket across the country lol! Only one I have ever liked is the Ducati because anything Italian made is good ;) and sexy lol! Thats the only sexy crotch rocket in my opinion. Still like Harley better though :)

Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???
Im not really a big Harley fan. Especially since they cancelled the Buell line. I have been riding Buells for years. And Harley can burn in 773H.
But for some reason i like the Night Rod. A friend of mine at work has one and it has some balls. After i found out the engine was designed by Porsh i was sold. Harley engines are just too heavy and don’t put out any HP or torque.
I think the Night rod might be my next bike. :skullbone

Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???
I have a 2007 Ninja 650R. My first bike and I love it. On long rides though it's too small for me physically and kind of cramped. The power on it's perfect, just need a custom seat and some aftermarket rearsets to make it more roomy. Considering it's faster than my firebird straight out of the box, I don't see the need for a supersport bike.
I have since put a touring windscreen on the bike.

I love 2007-08 FZ1s. The charcoal 07 with gold wheels would be the perfect bike.

The best ride I have EVER been on...OMG it was so much fun. If you guys have never heard of this.....look up tailofthedragon.com It is awesome!! Anyways....this was one that was taken by killboy when he was riding down by himself. I think it is an amazing picture!! This is on his FZ1...tops out about 140 after mods. woohoooo

 Aww you're so sweet! I lead a fun life :D I don't have a problem with speed on bikes thank heavens. I think I get my fill on the horses! I got new tires on my bike and I'm not quite confident with the twisties yet because the walls are still pretty stiff. That, and the last time I went riding on twisties the road had buckled right on the turn that I was going 60 on and it felt like I went over a speed bump!
I won't tell anyone how long your husband has been riding! :P

Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???
This thread keeps feeding my urge to go get my Motorcycle License and start saving towards a bike!!!! My dad has what I think is a Honda VTX1300 based on the pics i've seen of it.
I figure I can get a 2010 Ninja 250 for $4,500 Out the door, and have seen a 2006 for under $2,000. And the top speed doesn't appear to be that high so that makes it even more appealing.

just make sure you keep it on two wheels till youve got some time under your belt. Dont need to loop the bike trying to show off. :gj:

Yep...that is what my hubby says...ride your own ride...meaning don't try to keep up with others. Go at YOUR pace. When you try to keep up with long time experienced riders that is when bad things can happen.
We saw so many accidents when we were at Tail of the Dragon...ppl trying to over do it and show off. That is NOT a road you goof off on. Lots of stories about that road and it has taken down many of experienced drivers...including my brother in law...even has its own tree of shame.

i cant count how many times ive seen friends of mine go down due to trying to show off. If you can barley ride the bike dont be trying to speed around turns or do wheelies cause your gonna end up on your ass sooner or later. Just gotta ride within your limits and you should be fine. Ive been hit by a car on the parkway and i have fallen before. Its always better to get the first fall outta the way so you know what to expect. Also its not if your gonna go down its when your gonna go down.
