Same here for the most part, it pained me seeing the bison and wisent being cross-bred. One of the dumbest things a person could do is mud up the lines of an endangered animal, unless it was accidental (doubtful). I remember a documentary though about the bolor bear, one was found in the wild.

Ive seen these videos and I cant believe how dumb some people are. I read some of the comments on the youtube pages too. People are actually convinced that the pied is a half albino! There is one called supernatural creatures with some fake stuff and some real stuff. It shows the pig born with that cyclops genetic disorder. Everyone was swearing that it was a fake photoshopped picture. That poor pig which only lived a few hours, was on Animals Planet's weird, freaky and true series. I saw it alive. A woman was trying to bottle feed it.

Its sad how dumb the general population is getting as time goes by. They think every single genetic deformity is a fake and they think color morph snakes are something they are not. Oi

Wow we as a species suck! Why purposely try and crossbreed those animals? And on top of it all some of the animals weren't even what they said.... Makes me dislike people all the more.

I see nothing wrong with hybrids in general UNLESS it causes the quality of life of the animal to go down. Bengal and Savannah cats are popular pets and I hope to have a Bengal one day. Beautiful creatures. The cow crosses were a bit strange but as long as the animals were being cared for properly and were not suffering I see no real PROBLEM with it. Weird, yes. Wrong, no. Now if you were to cross two animals and the offspring be suffering from deformities or defects, then I see a problem. As long as these animals are not being released into the wild, I don't have a problem with it, just like people who are breeding different kinds of snakes together.

Wait, are you serious. People breed closely related snakes yes, but some of these weren't even closely related. There is a difference.

Greed. Some people just have to be the first to do something, even if it means a lesser quality of life for something/someone else.

As stated before i only believe it is wrong if it effects the quality of life of that individual. I think if the animal is in good conditions and is healthy with a happy life, then that is fine. But breeding these and having them suffer is compeletely wrong. I cant stand animal cruelty and to ever neglect or hurt an animal in anyway would be impossible for me.

As for the video's, some of the things are fake. Like the eight legged cow, just a mom and its calf. The one eyed cat with the perfect big eye in the middle of its head.. I doubt that is wrong. To have a perfect eye like that in the center is about impossible i would say. I understand some deformity, but not a perfect eye like that.

As I recall, beefalo (a hybrid between a domestic cow and bison) was done to increase disease resistance and reduce the impact on the environment of grazing beef on the American prairie. Point is, there was a real reason for doing it - unlike a few of the other hybrids in the slideshow. (I still wanna know how they crossed a groundsquirrel with an emu chick, LOL! 'Cause all of these things are real, right? None of them could be [gasp] Photoshopped - could they?)

I agree. I have friends that breed mules, which combine a horse's body size, and a donkey's wits. Mules are awesome animals which think much differently than horses and ae good for certain jobs. To decry animal hybrids, seems like a knee-jerk reaction to me; all hybridization is not bad. If you look into it, mules helped to shape our nation!

Humans already mess with nature on a daily basis; what on earth is natural about the enormous chickens that we eat daily which were mass-produced on a factory farm? I'd bet that most hybrid animals' lives are much better than you "normal" poultry and other livestock!

Releasing hybrids into the wild however; that I do not agree with. I don't condone people releasing any animals into the wild that do not belong there or that are non-native; that is a no-brainer.

And breeding any deformed, life-quality-reduced animal is no good, whether or not you're talking hybrids.
