A new project of mine...
This is a new project of mine. This little guy (Just shed with a little stuck shed) has locked up with my cinny gal (in blue) a few times this year. It is my first year breeding him. He has also locked up with a couple of normal gals. I am excited to see what he throws.

Here is a picture of the male.

Fingers crossed for a few viable clutches from him.

I'm going to go out on the limb and say he's a ball python. lol :D :P
Granite perhaps? Or possibly even Garcia? It does kinda-sorta-maybe remind me of the garcia mojave.
-
Re: A new project of mine...
Granite cinnamon? Wouldn't be the first time someone ended up with a granite combo without realizing it. :P
-
Re: A new project of mine...
Black Pastel maybe?
I don't know dude...
I don't keep those little snakes:D
-
Re: A new project of mine...
Here is a clue...
He was sold to me as a normal. :)
-
Re: A new project of mine...
Well good luck I hope you get some great looking babies from him that are far from normal =D
-
Re: A new project of mine...
Thanks guys...any other guesses?
I have no clue as he was sold to me as a normal and I am almost certain there is something going on with him. One of the normal females he locked with is about to have her prelay shed.
Here are a couple other photos of him...

Here is an older picture with him on the left, a normal in the middle, and the cinny gal on the right.

Humor me with some guesses...our laundry drain in our basement backed up and the plumber can't get here until the morning.

Re: A new project of mine...
He actually looks quite like our chocolate. Best of luck with him.
OH and i'm in the "accidental granite combo club" too :) We made lemon pastel x granites without even knowing the granite was present/genetic.
our choc (08) for comparison, he's currently breeding away too Bad pic, only one I can find right now.

Hers some of our 09 genetic granites (I don't think your boy is a granite):

pastel granite:

Black pastel 09:

Hope some of these help for comparison.
To my eyes thats a normal with your best chance of it being anything else either a chocolate or sable type animal.

Re: A new project of mine...
That is very interesting. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
I have a normal female who is going to drop soon...
I will post pics soon as she lays and we will see what comes from her.
:)

Just did a little google search on Sables and Chocolates. His markings remind me a lot of this Super Chocolate Brian has posted... http://www.bhbreptiles.com/component...feec6627cd.jpg
He has a sharper contrast in color...but his markings look very similar.
It will be interesting to see what hatches!

Re: A new project of mine...
Eh...should have check them prior to my previous post.

Re: A new project of mine...
Congratulations on the clutch and Good luck with everything you have going!

Re: A new project of mine...
I had him pegged for a super sable or super choco. But since you don't know for sure, you should also check out Dan Wolfe's "black lace" BPs for comparison.
-
Re: A new project of mine...
sweet I'll take one when they hatch :)
-
Re: A new project of mine...
Thanks all.
I will update again when they hatch.
They have a 7 hour car ride in about a month [Moving]....ugh...hopefully everything goes okay during that...
-
Re: A new project of mine...
congrats Josh, cant wait to see what hatches

Re: A new project of mine...
Just a quick update:
A) I will be cutting (Day 53) the eggs (5) from the Dinker_x_Normal clutch on Thursday (6/3).
B) My cinnamon girl just dropped 8 fertile eggs this morning sired by the Dinker.

Re: A new project of mine...
Congratulations! Good luck, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! :)

Re: A new project of mine...
Put me on the list for a baby if you get one that looks like daddy, a girl preferably. :D

Re: A new project of mine...
Hey,
I think I got something for you. Look at this female:
http://s3.directupload.net/file/d/2113/kzvb8gx5_jpg.htm
This year I breed her to a Mojave male. I got 5 Eggs, now 30 Days in the incubator.
Two Years ago I got the first Clutch from her. Male was a Pastel. I got One Pastel and One normal. The other Eggs went bad :(
Last Year I paired her to a YB and a Pinstripe. I got 1 Odd looking, and 3 Pin. The Pin are the cleantest Ive seen for a long time.
I can look for pictures, if you are interested.
Best wishes from Germany, Sito
Edit: hm, picture dont work. Here is the link: http://s3.directupload.net/file/d/2113/kzvb8gx5_jpg.htm

I cut them...nothing out of the ordinary from what I can tell so far.
Then again, I make only small incisions to assure the snake can emerge safely. I can't really see much of the snake's pattern. All I can see now is that there is movement in all of the eggs. I will post pics once they emerge.

Re: A new project of mine...

Re: A new project of mine...
They are all out of the eggs...well, all but one. 1 of the 5 never emereged from the eggs once I cut them on day 53. Once the other 4 emerged with no problem I checked the 5th one out a little closer and it never went full-term. It looked as if development came to a halt a few weeks ago...it was the first time I have ever had an egg not go full-term.
As for the others...
They all appear normal...sort of. Their color and pattern are not as dynamic as their father's...but there is some of the unique color and pattern in there. They all look about the same...it would been alot of easier if there were two distinctive looking type of hatchlings in the clutch.
So...either he [the father] is nothing more than a unique-looking normal..
or
He is something special and just missed out this time...or lucked out and they are something subtle.
I am going with they are all normals. However, I am going to wait to post pics until they have their first shed.

Re: A new project of mine...
Well....3 of the 4 shed last night...so I snapped some quick pictures. I was hoping for something a little more. If there is anything going on with these guys...it's subtle.
Nothing special...but here they are. I got 2.2 from the clutch and will post pics of the other female once she sheds. For what it's worth, the stillborn did not resemble these guys pattern-wise at all...a but more reduced. It is what it is... I cinnamon clutch the dinker sired due to pip at the end of July...so I am hoping for something unusual from that one.
I am in the middle of moving so much of my stuff is in storage...this includes my photo tent. So I ended up shooting outside under sunny skies.

Re: A new project of mine...
Interesting that none look like dad, hopefully his trait carries over in the cinnie girls eggs.
Nice pick up for a "normal" :)
