    Chocolate Ball Pythons
I know it has been asked before, but I can not find the thread on it.

I am looking for pictures of hatchling and sub-adult Chocolate BP's. I would like to see belly pics if anyone has them.

Or, if someone can post a link to the thread that has the info in it.

    Thanks
    Chris P.

Thank you for the pictures. I picked up two females from the Charlotte Repticon show on the 10th, that were being sold as Chocolates.

They have very simular markings to the pic's that you both posted. One is more banded than the other. They have very little to no white in their back and side patterns, and also have tanish smudges on there bellies.

I got a really good price on the two and couldn't pass it up. I will try to get some pics of them after they settle in a little more. One of the girls is very fiesty, and starts striking as soon as the tub is opened.

can you get better pictures?Sorry to say it but going off those pictures i'd say neither animal is a chocolate. Was the breeder well known or reputable? What is a "good price"?

On SPKs photo you can see the distinctive 'sheen' chocs have and nin both pictures you cans ee the blushing and granite/sablke type patterning that chocs have going on,.

Here is our chocolate boy, again you can see the sheen and the patterns/colouration

I don't know enough about chocolates to comment, but I will say the top girl is very pretty.

Finally got some better pic's of these two girls. I guess I need to rephrase my words a little about them. I purchased them at the Charlotte NC Repticon show on the 10th of January as Possible Chocolates.

The Breeder who is local to NC told me that he got in a wild caught male simular to a Chocolate and breed it to a couple of different normals. Some of the babies that hatched out looked like the father, and some looked completely normal. I purchased both female for $200, and figured that it was a reasonalbe price to have them as a dinker project.

Sorry for all the confusion on this topic.

I would like some info on the chocolates as well. I have what I was told is a possible choc but I never thought anything of it because IMO if its not proven to be anything other than a normal then its not. But on the other hand If she was that would be awesome lol. Shes gravid right now so I could make some really neat stuff in a year or so.

    Re: Chocolate Ball Pythons
Well, even if it turns out they aren't chocolates, it sounds like they have already been proven as something genetic, since half the clutch looked like their possible chocolate father. Whatever it is may be subtle, but some very subtle morphs have awesome supers or do awesome things in combos.

    Good luck with them!
