Which dinker would you choose?

I'm just curious... if you had to pick one of these "dinkers" (or special ball pythons, as the breeder refers to them), which would you choose? I can't get anything right now, but will hopefully purchase something dinker-ish in the near future. It would be cool to see what your opinions are, and which of these snakes has the most potential. Just a hypothetical poll - for now, LOL. ;)

P.S. These are all in the same price range, around $200-400 a piece... they have others with crazy potential on this site, but they're in a different range ($500+).

First, I wouldn't buy anything from those guys based on what I've seen and read about them, but to each his own. I also think they're way overpriced. I have some very similar animals in my collection that I didn't pay anywhere near that much for. They've been caught before giving morph names to animals just to bump up the price, when the animal is not of that morph. A desert ghost KS ad several months ago comes to mind.

I'd go with someone more reputable, myself. Try David Fernandez if you want a nice looking project with the customer service to back it up. His stuff sells quickly, so you'll probably have to wait until next season, but it's worth it.

I've actually emailed with David Fernandez, and like you said he's sold out for the season... and to be honest, I'd probably buy from him in the end. This is just a hypothetical poll, to see what you all consider a "dinker with potential." Let's pretend they all cost $100 + shipping for the sake of this discussion. ;)

I chose D because I like the rich darks, the banded pattern and the very distinct headspot...

G is also interesting with the connected alien heads along the sides.

The others look very similiar to what gets imported every year. I wonder if these abberant patterns are just a result of inconsistent incubation temps? If these are captive hatched imports that came from gravid females collected from the wild I would think it would be a possibility. I seem to recall reading about someone who was having temp control issues during incubation of one particular clutch and they hatched out with very "smudgey" alien head patterns. From what I remember it was a one time thing and was attributed to the inconsistent temps.

I like "A". Just looks more like tiger strips to me. But I sure as heck wouldnt pay more than $100 tops for it. It look really nice but is still normal.

None of them for those prices, but they are all quite sharp snakes... for the price you suggested, and if female... then all of them, but D is really sessy.

A forsure, gotta love those bandeds, I agree thou more than $100US is a little crazy for normals most likely Captive Hatched too

G...I love the connecting patterns....like a cinny...

I like A the best.

I chose 4....lol. It is so how I am...sorry. :rolleyes: I try not to be a spoiled brat.....but I would want 4 of them...:weirdface lol

A - so cool looking...has this really soft look love his pattern
C - love his flames and the white that shoots up his sides
D - such a bright normal...love the coloring
F- I thought his blushing was really cool.

I'd buy e and g (if they were female) and stick them to a cinny or black pastel.

I think I would have to go with A, I really like C and D too. But like the others have said, $200+ is more than I would like to spend, even for $100 I'd be iffy. But, I'm not a gambling person.

To tell you the truth i think all of these are just normals, and if anything the only thing they would be good for is just to see how their odd patterns would effect other morphs. Like a Reduced normal would make morphs reduced, its not genetic but its nice to have.

With that said id take the money and spend it on an actual morph.

A is a cool blurry ball with nice banding. We have had a few and only ever had one line prove genetic.

All of those were imported in 08.

Come on, A and C can't be normals? Can they? :confused:

Great to see all of the replies! :gj: I just thought it would be fun to get your opinions, and so far they've been very interesting... I've had my eye on "Snake A" since I first saw him on the website, but agree the prices are too high for an unproven variation. My other favorites are snakes C & F - regardless of their genetics, I think they're SUPER hot!

I'll definitely wait on a dinker project until finding the right snake at the right price (most likely from David Fernandez), but at least now I know what to look for. ;)

I picked D for the darkblack, pattern and headspot :)

If I could afford them, I'ld get A, C, and D.

I like the looks of D, A and E. A is probably just a reduced pattern normal, but it's a nice example of one and I'm kind of partial to those.

I voted for A, I've always been parital to the reduced pattern. They have it listed as a Jaguar....I'll have to google it and see what that is.

Damn Hard choice love reduced pattern on A Key pattern on E Blushing on F and Stripe and Keys on G but because i'm sucker for reduced patterns A

Either A or C, whichever had the clear belly.

I would choose "A" just because I have owned a lot of ball pythons, and all of the others look like something that I have already had. "A" just kind of pops, I never had a normal that looked like that.
