It was such a good day!

Well to start the day on Wednesday I broke my first horse ever! I was SOOO excited! Then I got home to check the snakes and found this!!!

Here's my little stud muffin. He was in a BAD mood when I took him out, but it was perfect for a good picture for my site.

And here's the filly I broke. She's a bit under 2 years old, but since she's such a big girl the trainer wants to start her Monday. I wanted to break her so I had to bypass a lot of work that I would have liked to have done first. But, luckily the work I had put into her was enough to gain her trust and give her confidence. I hopped on and she gave me almost no troubles.

I have a video of me getting on and riding but my internet has been really spotty :( My 14 year old sister hopped on 10 minutes after I got on. She's going to be an awesome horse. For those wondering, she's a Quarter Horse and her color is Buckskin. She's going for basic training and will be going back for some training in barrel racing.

And yes that coat was from the early 90s it's my farm coat! :D It was 5 degrees (F) that morning and it's a Columbia so I was nice and warm. I also have an orange hunting vest that goes over that coat because hunters go through OUR pasture, but unfortunately I didn't have it on for this picture :P

Is that coat from the 90's??:banana::rofl:

:rofl: How could you tell?! I can't believe that coat was "cool" back then. At least that's what my dad tells me, it was HIS! :8: After being drug through a few barbed wire fences and losing a lot of jeans I'm not about to wear my pretty pink and brown Columbia out there!!!

Congrats on your first lock and breaking the filly! My best friend just bought a filly and they're beginning to do ground work with her, but haven't gotten on her yet.

LOL, it is crazy! I'm still on cloud nine over breaking her myself. I never thought I would be able to say something like that. I'm not sure if the video worked for you guys or not, I think you might have to be a facebook member to see it :confused: But it really was as simple as getting on. She took off kind of quick, but when I asked her to whoa she tossed her head a couple times and stopped. I was putting bareback saddles on her since she was a week old and saddles since she was 6 months so she was well on her way before I ever got on her back. In fact, she saddles and bridles better than her 12 year old mom does. She stands perfectly while you tack her and her mom tries to buffalo you around if you don't have a strong, confident personality.

Oh yeah, the lock, it was awesome too! :rofl:

:8: That's no kidding! The filly usually doesn't care too much about the dog, but sometimes she chases her. My little sister, who was yelling at her, was more worried than I was! I was just focused on making sure the filly was listening to me and wasn't doing anything weird. My mom was the one freaking out in the beginning "holy mother of god" :rofl: It's so cute when people are worried. My boyfriend called me right after that to see if I was in the ER, I suppose it was a valid concern :rofl:

good stuff. I ve had some where around 10 or so locks between the males and females im breeding. Hope everything works out for you.:snake::gj:
