    They are very rare.
We are the only ones to produce them/prove them out.
We should have some available again next season.

Out of respect to the people who have bought black bellies this season and last season (only two other people have them) we are not going to publically post pictures of the black bellies until we produce more next season.

Its only fair to the people who are in this project.

There are a lot of snakes with "black belly" scalers, but there are different markings on them.
Just because a snake has a black belly does not mean its a black belly.

I had/sold about 12 "possible black bellies" when I was running j&j reptiles, and so far none have proven out yet.... its a lot rarer than most people think.

It seems more of a recessive gene that makes the Yellow Jacket that could have some heterogeneous markings occasionally. Kind of like the Het-Pied markings, they are not always true Het. YJ's.

So really, consider this a recessive gene for YJ's and you buying Het. YJ, not black belly. Or one day you may think you are buying a 'black belly' that looks like a Het. YJ but really is not.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

    They are co-dom/dom not hets.
They reproduce in a co-dom/dom manner. In the proven line there is visual animals and normals. The project is confusing enough without any outside confusion about hets.....

There are a lot of markers to look for, and just because a animal looks like a black belly does not mean it is.

We produced a spotnose black belly poss het axanthic this year as well so things are looking interesting for the next few seasons.
