    New Year Sausage
I just picked her up today. She is a little bit hissy but hasn’t threatened me yet. She is an 07, and looks close to four feet long.
She looks a little fat to me, what do you think? In need of a diet?

    A nice Marble!
I think she looks in good shape, just keep a balanced diet and you'll be fine!

She looks a LITTLE bigger than the average shape, but still gorgeous. No need for anything other than a balanced diet, no need to underfeed.

Personally, I think she is rather large and would feed her in a way to slim her down a bit.

    What's she weigh?

She looks a bit big to me also. Bloods should be chunky, not fat. :P

She's not TOO fat I agree....

Just a little on the big side.

To the OP, try feeding MEDIUM rats every 2 to 3 weeks for a while to see how she does.

I don’t know her weight because I forgot to put her on the scale while she was still in the bag, now she is sleeping and I don’t want to disturb her again today. The guy told me he feed her a jumbo two weeks ago. My opinion is that he overfeed her, but I just had a scary thought. When I went to pick her up, she was in a large display enclosure with four other blood pythons.
I will try to get her weight tomorrow and next week I will offer her a smaller medium rat.

Yeah Jumbos are way too big IMO. Even Large Rats are PLENTY.

I've had people tell me their animals eat rats that are just HUGE...

Then they wonder why the female slugs out or they just up and die.

She's a pretty good size for a 2 year old.

She's a good looking animal though!

Sad to hear that she was kept with other animals.

I think she's in better hands now and I know she'll do just fine:D

Abit on the Chubby side but a Medium would do her every 2 weeks until slims down just abit.

Nice looking snake. That's the way to start the new year off. Superb Exotics is totally right. Couple months you'll have her to a health size.

A medium rat every two weeks is all I feed my adults and they're still growing plenty. In my opinion larges are overkill unless you're only feeding every 3-4 weeks. Unless we're talking about a monster 6 footer of course. :D

I'm prob the only one who thinks she looks adorable. I love thick snakes, but if she is overweight then it sounds like it might be unhealthy.

    Great looking Blood:gj:

It depends on each animal Chris, but telling you that's like preaching to the choir:D

My big ~6 foot McPeek Female eats a Large rat every 3 weeks and it's STILL too much. Each animals metabolisms different. She is going to be getting cut back as soon as she lays:please:

After that it's Mediums every 2 weeks.

Muffin- I agree with you! She is a very GOOD looking animal, I'm surprised more people haven't taken to these AWESOME snakes!

We are however just concerned bout the animals health and it's future as a healthy animal and successful possible breeder.

Here was a good chart from a while back.

I put her on the scale yesterday; she weighed in at about 11lbs and feels just a little bit mushy if you know what I mean. I have some medium rats in the freezer, I will try her on them for a while and see how she does. Last night she became a little active exploring the tub. Today when I swapped out the water bowl I touched her on the back and she hissed at me again. I don’t think that she was handled very much.
