    Super bummed out FRED KICK
    Super bummed out-

Paid a deposit a while ago to Fred Kick for two pastel orange ghosts. He was very difficult to get a hold of and talk to and I put the deposit down without getting current weights and pics. Well a few weeks later I finally got the pics and the pair didn't match the pair pictured/advertised on kingsnake GRRRRR. So I told him I only wanted the male - and he is all like "you paid a deposit on the pair" and I'm like excuse me on the pair that doesn't exist!!! So then he said if I paid him an extra 150.00 on top of what he was selling the male for (would have been 450.00 additional to the deposit) I could just have the male. I agreed to that, then I did a search for Fred Kick and I found out that his shop got raided and a bunch of animals were taken away from him :( I emailed him again to tell him when he needed to ship and I never got a reply. So I filed a paypal dispute and got my money back but now I feel bad that the animal is going to be in filthy substandard conditions but at the same time I'm not trying to get my snakes sick either. I just feel really sad and crummy about the whole thing. :tears:

OYE bad situation!! You feel bad for the snakes...but yet don't want to make yours sick and loose your money. I totally get it.

I personally have never bought a snake or for that matter even considered a breeder without first doing my research on them. As well as asking other ppl about them. You were lucky that you were able to get your money back. But I totally get it about the poor snakes....I never want to see anything living in a bad situation. Hence I have to be careful or I would have a zoo....lol

Good thing you got your money back... Hopefully you're familiar with the BOI and BLBC, and of course BP.net has an Inquiry/Feedback section.

Did you happen to do a search on his name on the boi? I have not read this thread but the title says exactly what you say he did to you.

Agreed, I'm glad you got your money back too. I was afraid that when I opened this thread I was going to see that he scammed another person out of their money. :( for the snakes!

Fred Kick is not the best guy, i bought some snakes off him that were good he said they were "proven breeders" But i can bet they are virgins because im haveing alot of problems with them not breeding. But then at a show my mom suppressed me by buying me a normal female at a show and he "garenteed"my mom she was ready to breed at 1450g, i got home and weighed her and she was about 1200g.
Yeah way to take advantage of my mom who knows nothing about snakes.
She winded up paying 50$ more for this "proven breeder" the a non proven same weight.
To make a long story short he made me some good sales, but taking advantage is enough for me to not buy from him anymore.

A friend of mine used to work at petsplus that mr.kick runs.. And a bunch if snakes got lose and or stolen in the time that he was working there and then he was blamed for it..mr.kick then sued my friend he's sueing him for over 1000.00 for something my friend has nothing to do isn't that rediculous ????

My friend has ben talking to the person responsible for initiating the raid on petsplus and they are trying to do something about that filthy totally illegal store.
    ----

from an inside source we learned that Fred actually pays someone inside the SPCA to warn him when they are going to come in for a visit..and when ever they do they clean up everything double time, and he moves all of his animals that he dosnt have licenses for out of the shop. Several workers have said this and something will be done in the near future

I seriously advise anyone not to buy reptiles or cats and dogs from petsplus you will have problems with your animals

Look at it this way. A few animals might have to sit in his shop and suffer, but the more people rescue off him, the more it supports him and people like him.
Its a hard choice to make and leaves one with a bad taste in the mouth, but better people like that dont turn a profit to bring more animals into a bad situation.

The kick bros are TERRIBLE. Take a look over on Fauna, there are many threads about them. Spend you money elsewhere and worry less.

I don't disagree and will def watch better in the future but my few I got from them were problem free and we are talking a high white pied female,a pastel clown female and a nice pastel genetic stripe male so it's not like I bought a cinny of him they were substantial purchases always exact photos, healthy ,eating and nicely shipped once same day as purchase but I'll def prob look elsewhere in future, but one purchase was this month

I wonder how many negative reviews of Fred Kick since 2009. Plenty of other vendors with a count of 0.

    Too many.

I'd never do business with him. Not an honest seller.

Fred Kick is the most arrogant jerk I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. I would never buy anything off of him, not even a stick, that he donated to a USARK auction a couple years ago... Yes, a stick. And then laughed at how clever he was.

He's shady to say the least. I've had personal dealings with the Kick brothers. They vend at some of my local shows. We all call his section the wall of death because he deals in a lot of wc animals all right beside high end balls. Rarely does anything good come from his tables. Those of you who don't know them becareful what you buy and just FYI they also go by the name reptile addicts at some of the shows.

Take a look at the animals they bring to shows. There are visible mites on half of them. I have seen a snake writhing and spitting up mucus. I pointed it out and he didn't seem concerned.

The only time I've ever heard of this guy is from the negative feedback on various forums. I can't believe he stays in business with all the things I've heard.

Rarely does anyone buy from him twice. At the local shows that we both attend no one that attends on a regular basis buys from him. he counts on the hundreds of first time expo goers and kids that dont know any better.

Yea that sucks about the guy, sounds like Dan from DTS Herps. I'm glad the OP got their money back and that all of you who read this know not to buy from him in the future. I always do a lot of asking around before my money leaves my hand.

My first interaction with Fred Kick:

Saw a huge multi-table display at one of my first expos. Saw a very reasonably priced snake next to a number of very sickly looking animals.

I asked the guy behind the table what the name of the vendor was (no vendor name displayed) and he literally looked at me and just didn't say anything. I asked if they had a card as I was thinking of following up on the snake and he just shook his head. No name displayed anywhere on the whole setup, despite having one of the biggest displays at the expo, probably 5 or 6 tables.

I asked someone later if they knew who the vendor was because I couldn't believe how low the price was and that's when they warned me. It suddenly all clicked in place as to why the guy was extremely sketchy and unresponsive when I asked who they were and what their contact info was. Why would I buy from someone who won't tell me who they are? I looked them up on Fauna and I am pretty pleased that I didn't end up buying the snake.
