Cheapest BP Breeder you know. (FIRST POST)

Hey, who is thr cheapest BP breeder you know. I'm trying to get a pair of yellow bellies, mochas, or mojaves to produce a white snake. Plus, how much is shipping.

The "cheapest" generally don't have good reputations, aren't there after the sale if you have problems with your animals and so on. Please read the link in my signature about buying "cheap" before you go that route.

I would argue that if you plan to breed these animals yourself that you go for the best quality that you can, not the bottom of the barrel, especially if you hope to sell any of the offspring.

save more money...do your research...(fauna classifieds is a great site). When you are looking for cheap only ....you take a chance on ppl ripping you off. Not always...but do your research on the breeder.

Im sorry, what I meant was inexpensive. I guess I'll have to buy the ones at regular price, hopefully I will gain back the money from selling geckos.

Even if you buy "inexpensive", the quality is not that great. You risk not only getting poor quality examples of the morph, you risk internal/external parasites, snakes with RIs, a breeder who WILL NOT take the snake back if it has any problems, a snake with feeding problems, etc. Why not just wait and save up your money and get high quality animals that you know are coming from a good source and will give you gorgeous offspring. My next snake is coming from a good, well-known breeder and its going to be a snake that I just have to have, and am willing to save up the money for.

The breeder I go through has very good prices, but I'm a returning customer and a regular feeder customer. I haven't had problems with the snakes I've gotten from him, except my pastel but that was all my fault.

Go to Ralph Davis's page and pm him asking about his prices. He's been reasonable for me and I have no doubt that what I'm getting is exactly what he says it is.

Lissten, Im going to say this once, I'm tired of everyone accusing me of wanting to breed reptiles to make money. I'm a teen, so one, I don't have anything to spend the money on other than reptile food and other reptiles, and two, thats why I want some balls for a low price(My mom says I have to buy them myself). Of course I'm gonna want to make a small profit, otherwise we would all sell our animals or work for free. So no offense, but please stop jumping to conclusions.

You must understand. There are a lot of people that get into these snakes just to make money and when we see someone who's asking about "cheap" morphs to breed, it kind of starts ringing alarm bells in our heads. While I have no problem with people wanting to make money with these animals, I really wish it wouldn't be the only reason to keep these beautiful creatures.

I understand about not having a lot of money. I have a wishlist longer than my arm but I don't have the money for any of these snakes just yet. But please take into consideration that when you breed your snakes, they make more of themselves, meaning you need to have the space and money to take care of them. When my snake collection jumped from 1 snake to 11 in less than 3 years, my feeding bill jumped from about $5 a month, to $100 a month, and depending on how many breeder animals you plan to get, you will have a lot of mouths to feed. I'm hoping for 3 clutches this season. Thats around 18 new babies if you average 6 eggs per clutch. And you have think about, what if you don't sell your babies as fast as you hoped. You have to house, feed, and care for all of those babies. This is a VERY expensive hobby and you CAN'T expect to make even a little profit if you are buying "cheap" morphs. I will be lucky to even make 1/2 of what I will spend this year in food, and that's just food. It doesn't include the money we spend on electricity for the racks, bedding, new racks I will have to buy to house the babies and future purchases.

If you really want to breed these wonderful animals and make a small profit, save up your money for some high quality snakes from respected breeders. Quality produces quality. You don't want to be the breeder selling low quality reptiles. I wish some of my morphs had come from some of the well known breeders on this forum.

Look, I don't mean to go on and on here but these snakes and this hobby is a passion of mine. If you are only getting into the snakes for the money, that's fine, but have some pride in what you produce and sell and wait and get some high quality animals. If you are getting into breeding snakes for the love of the hobby, then wouldn't you want beautiful snakes that come from good breeders?

your wrong, about 90% of us would still own these animals If there was no profit to be made, mayb more. heck I bet 90% don't make any profit lol. Its a hobby, Its a hobby alot of us love.

with that said, have you done your reaserch? I doubt it since your asking for cheap morphs. Even from a money stand point, you have to realize the investment of money and time. once you find out your not making any money are you going to just drop the hobby? im trying to save you that grief because like I said most of us don't make money. these are live animals, alot of time and money goes into them, alot of things can happen. from an investment stand point its a really big risk to take for such a small gain. also even if there is any money to be made, if your buying babies your looking years down the road before you even see a single dollar.

Looking at some of the prices of the morphs how can anyone claim they are not breeding BP's to make money??? I am disabled and there is NO WAY I could afford some of the more expensive morphs, but that is my problem right??? The next morph I really want is an albino, but I am not sure I will be ever able to afford one. I know the prices they are going for now is pocket change to most people, but it is a helluva lot of money for someone like me!!!
I did get a really nice spider last fall, and may pick up a pastel someday and have a clutch of bees, and most likely will keep one for myself, and give the rest away!!!!!!!!!!

go to a show find what you like & haggle a bit.I got some to move & having a hard time right now.cant ship so trying to sell local.

I will never make a dime off any of my herps, and never care to. They are a labor of love only. Just like my cats.

Of course I'm gonna keep these animals if they dont sell, I've owned 4 geckos and a snake without breeding in mind for 4 years. I've liked herpetology ever since 4. Besides, I'm gonna keep the best to for myself. And yes I've done my research, I'm a responsible reptile owner. I've done all my research before getting any animal. If I haven't done my research, I would have Red tails, monitor and other big herps, but I don't have enough room. And like you haven't seen morphs for rediculously high prices. So excuse us first time teenage breeder, but we are going to be a bit nieve, even though I knew most of the info you told me.

with an attitude like the one your showing us ..... that tells me that your a stuck up little punk who thinks they know it all ... and honestly with an attitude like that its not going to get you very far in this forum or in your life ... smarten up and talk to people the right way ... have respect for your elders ... since your a teen most likely 80% of us are older than you and have been doing this since you were a twinkle in your fathers eye ... most people on here keep there snakes cause they like to .. not all of us are out for a quick $$ ... you asked a question ...now sit back relax and enjoy your answers from people with experience ... yes some of us will jump down your throat really fast if we get the wrong idea but calmly explain yourself and dont give us the "chucky cheese" attitude cause i highly doubt youll find a better forum with more experience than right here

Once again, I said, I'm not in it for the money. I had to beg my mom for a snake for 5 years until I actually got one. How was I rude, I just don't want people to think I was in it for the money, I get that all the time, and so do alot of first time breeders. I said what I thought, was that so wrong? I didn't give out alot of info yet people are already getting inferences. There are 3 reason's I want to breed. For the love. For the animal food. For the designer and beautiful morphs of the reptiles. Everyone get that now. I'm a teen, so I dont have anything to spend money on. Any more personal questions or problems. Come on. I want to know what or what people think I'm doing wrong.

if your in it for the love and respect of the animal thats all fine ... all im saying is just dont come on here with an attitude and expect not to get one back ... people are going to jump down your throat for any little thing you say and others will explain it to you with more of a well being ... there is alot of crap going on right now with the whole python ban going on and alot of people who are breeders and just average snake lovers get a little tense when someone thinks they can just jump right into it ... so its nothing personal directly at you ... just try to keep a calm tone when you reply or ask a question ... this is the internet so we cant hear your tone of voice when you speak your mind ... so just try to phrase things more proper is all ... cause once you start snapping back at people ...basically you lose all respect and thats when nobody here will help you ...and trust me thats the last thing you want ... sorry for calling you a stuck up little punk and a know it all but when you express yourself in that matter thats what it makes you look like ... and trust me there is always someone who is going to point out your mistakes or bad before the good

Kid, ignore the mob. They're mad and scared and need to vent. You came along and asked an innocent, so far, but poorly worded question and all the "nice" folks here took out their frustrations on you.

Inexpensive does not mean low quality. If often does but not 100% of the time. There are some great deals if you're patient and observant.

Get what you want, have a good time keeping what you want, and then, without permission of the masses, do what you want with your babies.

How you act then, what you do until then, what you become by then, is far more important than asking a good question in a bad connotation.

To the left, if you're just a punk looking to make a buck, see ya you'll be gone before I see this mornings bacon again.

If you really want a mocha or yellowbelly Amir Soleymani is your guy. That said I have to agree with some who have posted, do your homework on which mutation or mutations you end up getting. Good luck do your research knowledge is power.
