thanks for the input, i haven't really paid attention to the caramels before but wanted to help this lady out. what are the traits of the caramel? is there such thing as a regular old caramel, rather than a caramel albino? i have jungle pastels anything creative i can do with mixing the two?

    Re: Caramel Ghost?
she said she paid 550 for it at RC Reptiles in PA but is only asking 175 [orig 200 but we settled on 175] "cause she need to get it out of her apartment". i mean, i pretty much just like ball pythons and 175 isn't bad, almost pet store price for a normal, so i figured its a good idea. what do you think?

    Re: Caramel Ghost?
Price kinda puts me off, even if she needs to get rid of it 550 is still too low in my eyes. 175 is ridiculous. Have you asked for updated pictures for proof yet before you waste the time driving to see it.

Something is definetly wrong because 2009 baby CA's are going for around $1200.

    Re: Caramel Ghost?
right, i saw the price too and thought it was odd. that's why i thought maybe its just a regular caramel but i don't know much about the morph. the snake is in the next town over so its not bad of a drive, im just worried about getting swindled. the price def seems to good to be true.

ask for a updated picture with your name on a piece of paper next to the snake and have them email the picture. Then post the new picture here

It is either not what it is being promoted as or it has SEVERE kinks. If you decide to look at it feel the spine if you feel a lot of bumps that would be bumps. There is no difference between carmel and carmel albino they are one inthe same. To tired to give any more info.

If you are going to waste your time and go look at it make sure you don't go alone. These guys are scammers. Just walk away from the deal. Best case scenario is that they will sell you an overpriced hypo.

    Re: Caramel Ghost?
Sad thing is, they are probably doing it on purpose. They just did a little web surfing, picked out a cool picture and sent it to you.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a normal when you get there. If it were me, even if it isn't far away, I'd ask for another photo of the snake. It is obvious they are lying from the start, and goodness knows what diseases the snake may have.

Someone here learned that the hard way, she got what she thought was a great deal on an albino to help out a "military" family. Turns out the snake was very sick and even though she spent a great deal of time and money on it, her vet couldn't save it. So please be careful! If you decide to go see it and you have any other snakes, scrub yourself off and wash you clothes before you go near your snakes, even if you don't get theirs. If you do get it, quarantine it as far away from yours as you can!

I wish you the best with this, but I'd sure think long and hard before I went to see/get this snake.

yea that's what i figured. she texted me this morning to confirm that i was still coming but she didn't answer my question when i asked what morph it was. a little sketchy but still gonna check it out, hopefully i don't get mugged or something. if it were just a hypo, what's the usual price for them? less than 175?

I wouldn't even go if I were you. Sounds like a scam. Bring a friend if you do go and let someone know when and where your going and have it set up that you will call at x time. Just be safe!

$175 is not a bad price for a hypo, but why buy one from an unknown source and take all the risks involved?
I've seen them for $200 shipped lately.

They've already proven to you they are scamming you with that photo, that's where I would drop the ball.

Good luck with this one, be safe.

WTH that image on the first post is a caramel ghost FAR from a pastel.

The OP has yet to post a picture of the actual snake.

No the image on the first post is not a caramel at all. Its just a ghost. Or orange ghost. Or orange hypo etc...

But I too am very interested to see to see a picture of this actual snake. Im sure Im not the only one who thinks it a little strange that this person asked for advice, it was proven that the person stole a pic online yet he still went to get the snake but has not posted anything since?

Please post a pic of the snake so we can see what it is.

wow whats up all, i posted that last quick update right before i left for work. i appreciate the enthusiasm to see pictures but my work schedule is pretty much the opposite of most peoples. i know i said there was some red in her eye but im pretty sure that was just me convincing myself it was a good deal while i was looking at it at this chicks place. i would appreciate if the "oooo, you got ripped off" comments were kept to a minimum as it doesn't really matter as i have the snake now and am pretty happy with it, thanks.

yea dude, i don't know. she said she got a photo off the internet cause she "didn't want to move the snake and the glare from the tank messed up the photos" and she didn't know what i meant when i asked her what morph it was. i gave up on the chance of a caramel glow at that point.

The pictures are not a great quality but Im pretty sure thats a Pastel.

Anyone else care to give input?

Pretty sure thats what you have there man. If so you paid about the right price if its a male and you got some supplies with it.

You didnt get completely duped after all but it still was not right for her to post someone elses pic and misinterpret the snake in that way.

You didnt get ripped off. Now just watch the snake closely to be sure he isnt sick or has mites and you should be just fine.

hey, thanks man. sorry for telling you to relax, work was lame tonight and was worried people were gonna jump down my throat on the forum about picking up this snake.

not to sure that it's a pastel, i have two and there isn't much yellow in this snake. it almost looks like a light normal that gets lighter/white the closer it gets to its belly [i tried to show that in the second picture].

its funny, as i was uploading my phone pics i noticed to took a picture of a 6500 dollar caramel glow from like 2 expos ago. wish i retained that to memory.

    Re: Caramel Ghost?
Its the green eyes.. Look at its eyes. Pastels have alot of varience too. Some look like light normals. With those green eyes and all the blushing it has inside the dark markings. If the belly scales are clean and white down the center its gotta be a pastel. Just a low quality one.

    Oh and it's dudette... LOL

My vote is a really low quality pastel. Ive seen some brown out and look more grayish than actually brown.

Meant to say the first post was a image being portrayed as a caramel from what the OP was told. BUt is a Orange ghost

And the new pictures are Pastel by the eyes. Could use a whole body shot.

you know, i just put her next to my jungle pastels, i think you're right. pretty cool, can't wait for the shed. the second picture, with the almost white creeping up her side through me off I've seen it sometimes on other morphs but with my pastels its a nice fade rather than a blatant color change. will post more photos later in a different thread.

also i'd like to thank you guys for being positive. my trouble with forums is i feel like the internet inflates peoples egos and makes it easier for them to put people down but you guys have been real helpful and cool. thanks.

HAHA I was waiting for this :P Somehow I knew you would see it and correct it.

As for the snake. I agree its good he got it, it just did seem very fishy at first. Im still not positive that girl wasnt trying to pull a fast one on someone who didnt know and try to make a few extra bucks. No its not worth trying to find out at this point but at least he got it figured out.

I probably would have still gone to look at it too. As long as it was close enough for him to go see then like I said, he didnt get duped. He still got a morph and he probably did save it. If he is here asking questions then its obvious he cares.

So dont get me wrong. I just know you cant trust everyone when it comes to these things.
