Das ist doch lächerlich! Sie sehen cool, aber ich glaube nicht, sie sind es wert, 1 million.Sorry, wenn mein Deutsch ist schlecht, ich lebe in Amerika und spreche nicht oft.

Haha, that is in either Yen or Pesos, its not dollars or euros or pounds. 1,000,000 Yen is only $11,000, which is completely reasonable for a rare ball python morph, especially back in the day in 2008.

I'm so jealous, you two need to teach me how to speak German LOL.. I wanna learn BADLY.

Anywho, I'll look it up right now, but I've never heard of a 1mil Ball python. I think it may have been a joke, if it really is in American dollars.

    Re: million dollar ball python
If that is in dollars then either the owner really think he could make that much by breeding them himself and selling then or they're not really for sale. Coral Glows from nerd go for $20,000 so maybe he thinks he can make a mil. of off breeding them, but that's doubtful. I think he probably just didn't want to sell them. Back when I had my '88 Landcruiser people used to ask me all the time how much I wanted for it and I would say like 50k or something crazy like that, I really just didn't want to sell it.

I do doubt the authenticity, I have seen bp's with $20,000 price tags a few different places and I have heard of bps being sold in the $100,000 price range for first of their kind snakes. They easily make their money back in the long run so if it is real maybe this guy think he can make a mil off of it. It's doubtful but I just thought it was a possibility.

The owner is a member here so I'm sure you could just PM him to get the answer your looking for. My guess is that they are NFS but he put the high price tag on them to draw attention to his project. Probably gets a lot more people to look at a show than just having NFS on their case.

I doubt it was in American dollars. I know some breeders have spent $50,000 on one snake. That's the most I've read on breeders websites.

the show was in utah so its american but like it was said it was bigger news priced at $1,000,000 than it would of been with nfs stamped on it, hey its some time later and we are still talking about it looks like he did wat he set out to do..... plus if someone would of dropped a cool mill on him i dont think he would of felt llike he loss.

it says in the writing above the pics it was at the Wasatch Reptile Expo. Im sure he had no intentions of actually selling these animals. Just like tmoore said he was more then likely drawing attention to his project

Ok, then it was listed as that for the "cool" factor and so no one would buy it. There was an $8,000 axanthic spider "for sale" at the Iowa show, anyone who didn't know anything about spiders and axanthics would say, wow that's an extremely rare hard to make morph! Anyone who knew better would say, wow, he really doesn't want to sell that thing, or he has already been made an offer and he wants to see if someone is crazy enough to pay that price.

thanks to that great response. and to the 2 of u whp want to learn german, i can just say why? what can u do when u can speak german? i mean we need to learn english (i m glad thats its so), because so u can speak all over the world with people of any kind. but german??? i think to learn france would pay more off. but back to the "million dollar snakes": i really would like to hear what the owner says about this thread. and whats behind the genetics of these snakes. i mean i doubt that they would bring any money back if he bought them for 100.000$ or so. the platinum and the toffe will (or have been) payed off. but these snakes (to me) doesnt look that special that they were worth anything higher than maybe a thousand dollars or so...

to the guy with the axa clown..... combo: where can i find such a calculator? i just now the "wizard" from ballpythonworld.

I don't think the Goldfinger snakes are that impressive, personally, unless their genetics have outrageous potential.

I have seen prettier Orange Ghosts or other pastels. And I think the Bumblebee was a better looking snake as far as that goes.

just 3 months ago i saw a banana pin for 35k

and 3 tinely park shows ago i know BHB had a few animals with a 100k price tag i can't remember what they were....that show was my first time seeing morphs in person so everything was cool.

i don't think it would be impossible but it would have to be something thats a "must have", be a proven morph, and be like a few in the world and a male. my guess would be the million dollar price tag would just be a "I don't want to sell it, but if your going to ask me how much there you go."

I think they are just hypos. Nothing more and nothing less. Granted he hit the jackpot on randomly pairing two "unknown to him" hets. I bet it you breed it to any hypo out there you will make more hypos. IMO I think he should have done that before listing it for sale whether he actually intends to or not. Its irresponsible to try to pass something off as "new" before actually knowing. I see in a few years time him referring to the "goldfinger" as a new and his own hypo line. Grats to him for the astounding luck but I would have kept that in the closet for a few years to try to fully understand the genetic potential before releasing it upon the world. Just my .02 . s

ok. i think we all agree that the animals are not 1 mio $ worth. i wish there were snakes priced like that:;).
but again: can someone tell me where i could find that "morph calculator" the axantic ghost clown... dude (;))has used?
i do only know the "wizard" and this calculator doesnt work for advanced genetics.
i mean do u know a calculator where i can get the results of:

I think that there's more going on than just being hypo:

    http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ght=goldfinger

Do a search for goldfinger here on the forum and there's a lot more information.

Still doesnt look all that spectacular to me. I mean they are nice looking snakes. But I just don't see the potential there. I mean if it could throw pastels like that everytime then that would be could but all I see is a strange head pattern and alot of blushing. I Just couldnt see paying much more than the normal price for a hypo for one. We will see where this project leads and what his hypo line(which is what I will call it until proven otherwise) can do with other morphs. I still say its a hypo. Just breed it to another hypo and get it over with. Good luck to the breeder with his project and I hope I am wrong but l don't think I am on this one.

i know that there are only 3 of them today. so i think the chance to get one is very low. but the breeders facility is called blacklotusreptiles. the exact website is easy to get by google.

Das war doch ein witz. Evan wollte die Tiere nicht verkaufen.

Evan was just having a little fun and trying to get his project a little notice. At first I must admit I thought they were just neat hypos, but after this years babies, there is something really cool going on there. There is another gene involved and the "special" is freaking cool. The pastel special that was pictured in a link someone posted on this thread is turning out amazing! I really would love to get in on Evan's project someday. I imagine he will let some go sometime in the next year or two.

haha I'm sure he's just trying to draw attention. The most expensive ball I've ever heard that was purchased was like 145,000 and it was some other white snake in Africa but it was back in the day.

    Ach du liebe Zeit!

I got searching this "goldfinger" snake today. I picked up a female today, that "possibly" is gravid from being paired with one of Evan's goldfingers. Sorry to say, though, that I don't think she's gravid.

However, she is the bitiest biting, snappy, mean BP I've ever seen. If you want to be bit, just come hold her! We're naming her Jezebel. Boy she's MEAN!

Anyway, I hope to get pics of her tomorrow. Left my camera at work. I'd like to weigh her, too, but she just won't back down!

I think, too, that the goldfinger is a cool looking snake. However, it's offensichtlich not worth a million dollars! Anyway... Mach's Gut!

Anyone who knew better would say, wow, he really doesn't want to sell that thing, or he has already been made an offer and he wants to see if someone is crazy enough to pay that price.

8k for an axanthic spider is fairly run of the market, at least thats what all of them were priced around this season that i saw. not that unreasonable

since bam bought this thread up again....

ive to say im really impressed. i didnt thought that so many of u guys can speak german- some of em really good but all very understandable (is that a word...lol?)

clark- ur german is awesome- everything was right but typen is tippen- but i got u. i hope u guys understand me as good as i understood u.

to the 6k for a axa spider- i dont think thats to high (09). look what u pay for a caramel spider, a spied etc. albino spiders and ghost spiders are a bit cheaper but there are a lot more of em (i mean there are more hypos and albinos than axas)

i dont know for what they go this season, but i bet they still cost a bit.
