Photos dont show up, and unless you bought it as a morph im going to tell you now its a normal. 99.99% of ball pythons bought that are not assigned a specific morph are normals.

They're showing up for me in the second post now. As others have said it's probably not a morph if not bought as one but it is pretty cool looking with the full stripe and high white sides. If you do breed or are planning on it in the future, this snake could add some cool patters to others morphs.

Wow! That is a SWEET dinker youu got there! A dinker is basically an Odd Ball that MAY be genetic.. The only way to prove it genetic is by breeding it and proving it out..

I've seen a few harlequins like that pass through. Don't know if any ever proved genetic, though. Good luck!

Around 50 bucks or so... more than a normal but not really as much as a proven morph. They arent common but they arent exactly super rare either :)

Just a normal until you prove her out, but DANG she's beautiful! I wish I could find a normal like that for $50!

    Re: is this a morph?
Beautiful dinker! :gj: I agree that it looks like a "Harlequin," which apparently is still an unproven normal variation... also reminds me of a morph called lace-back, or is it black lace? Anyway, definitely breed that baby and see if it proves genetic!

    WOW.
That is an awesome snake. I probably would have paid more than 50 and felt just fine about it. I'd really have to wonder if there wasn't something genetic there. I've seen a lot less impressive balls as dinker projects!

A snake that looks that nice is worth up to $200 in my book.

In all likelihood there is no special breeding potential there for extra-nice offspring as the stripe on snakes like that doesn't seem to be passed on very well.

HOWEVER, I'm definitely of the opinion that a snake's value is more than just its breeding potential. Many in this hobby however, are not of the same opinion when they purchase animals.

IMO, that is a VERY nice pickup, I'd call it in the top 1% of nicest looking normals out there, at least for my tastes. I just love full stripe harlequins.

I love full stripes, whether they are gold stripes or black stripes. That is a very stellar looking animal you have! Nice pickup, and for only $50 too!

Holy cow you got her for $60!!! That's well worth it in my opinion! Even if she doesn't prove to be genetic she's a SHE! Awesome snake! That belly pattern is really unique, I've never seen something like that. Good luck with her!

Even if it is a normal, it's definitly a sweet looking one.

If you breed her I hope she proves out.

    Re: is this a morph?
this my sound dumb but keep in mind i'm new to bps. how would you prove if its genetic? breed it to a normal or a morph?

    Re: is this a morph?
    Hi,

From my ( veeeeery limited ) understanding that would depend on what you feel the possible morph might be.

If you think it is possibly an example of an existing morph with an identifiable homozygous form then you would probably breed it to another definate example of that morph - or the homozygous form if it as available.

If there was no definitive homozygous form then you might go for an easily identifiable combination.

If the possible morph might be something new then you would possibly want to keep things simple to help you work out the genetics and so breed it to a normal.

Or you might just breed it to anything you can get to see what happens. :D

    Re: is this a morph?
I think I saw this snake on kingsnake about a month back with a few other nice dinkers from AAA. Shot'em an email about whether or not they were still available, come to find out they were but that was the last I heard from them. They had 1 listed as a poss harlequin and the others as fancy balls between $65 and $150. 2 I was more than willing to pay the 150 for.

Either way very nice pic up :gj:

    Re: is this a morph?
The first thing I would do to see if it's genetic is breed it to a normal. Once you get babies breed a male back to your female. If it's codom you should get morphs when breeding her to a normal, if it's recessive you should get morphs when you breed one of her sons back to her.

    Good luck! :gj:
