Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
It's that time of year that comes twice a year for us college students...exam time...Here is a thread for everybody to vent, complain, rant, rave and brag about exam scores.
I'm only taking 12 hours this semester and only have 3 exams, so I got off kind of lightly. I just switched my major in my junior year from Accounting to Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism management because I finally decided that I'm going to open a brew pub when I do grow up. The bad part is that I switched after the drop/add date, so I got stuck in all the accounting classes I was already in. Including intermediate cost accounting, which has been the bane of my existence all semester and there was no reason for that to stop at exam time. I checked my exam schedule and it is on the absolute last day of exams.
Now, take your turn to complain

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
just finished mine. it was a grad class so it was tricky. we had to do 10 short essays (at least one page no longer than two) on topics somewhat related to the class using scientific literature to back up your answers.

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
Exams start this week, but as a music major, we have juries today. That's when you play for the brass faculty all the pieces you've been working on all semester. Granted, I'm at a small school so I'll be playing for about 5 people, but still a little intimidating. But that's the only one I'm worried about really, and then again, I'm not terribly worried about it! Good luck to all!

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
One of my wife's exams for nursing is today. She is stressing. Next semester is her last semester then she graduates with her RN  She is not out of the woods after that though because she wants to continue to go and get her masters, so she will be going to college for a long time. She is the smart one and I am very proud of her!!! I surely couldn't do it.....

Doesn't count for anything yet.
And if you think high school is hard, just wait until college.
I feel like I'm going to die, but I know I won't. :P

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
I had exams 3x a year in college, good ol' quarter system..
10 weeks of 3 classes a term. It was pretty intense to go through that much material for a class in that short a period, but fewer classes per term than semester systems.
We also had 6 weeks of winter break, starting right before Thanksgiving! I loved it.
Good luck with your exams!!

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
Today I have a final in my composition class, but it is essay. On Wednesday I have a huge final on genetics in my molecular biology class!

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
My calc exam is going to be 3 hours long, is cumulative, and I already have a migraine from studying, not to mention the last exam I pretty much bombed (with a 74%) meaning I have to manage a 100% on this to even have a hope of getting an A for the class ~_~ Same with physics.

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
I have 13 hours this semester. All my exams are this week, but luckily spaced out, so I'm not overly stressed. Hopefully, I'll do decently on my math test -.-

No curve? I remember calc's curve for my class was like a 40 because everyone bombed. Same with chem class.

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
I'm not worried about my finals sadly.
Ive blown three semesters of Junior/Community College. Two semesters of not caring about school and one of getting very sick with mono right before the drop deadline so I opted to drop the semester before my grades tanked from missing school.
Next semester I will lock down and get back on track, time to start working towards a degree.

Mine are all spaced out also. One a day for me because of the way the school sets the finals schedule.

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
Sorry I cant edit my post now so here's another.
I figured out how to do related rates last night, and today my teacher gives us a 3 variable related rate problem, so I'm thrown off at first but then worked it out, easy stuff. I get to the end and my answer just doesnt make sense... 20mph for a speeding criminal... yeah no that was wrong. I went over the whole exam like 8 times, and I'm pretty sure I got every single other problem right, pretty sure at least... But then I talked to her after... it was all over me not putting a negative sign into my calculator ARGH!!!!! I had the equation right, I had all the values in the equation right on paper, but not a friggin - sign on my calculator where it needed to be *smacks head against the desk*
Anyway, I hope I manage an A in the class, my last exam I got a 76 on, then the prior exam an 89 and I had like a 92 in class after the second exam (the 89 one) so I'm hoping this all will balance it out. Otherwise I will probably explode... I'm talking head explode, everywhere, over everything.

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
I have 6 exams this year....and still 3 to go! They are all 3 hours, all hard courses, and my university is notoriously filled with brainiacs (yet anyone rarely gets an A) who study 24/7.
Ooohhh let the stress begin (....or should I say my procrastination?)
....ONE week until freedom, christmas, and a social life again!

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
Accounting is always something good to have in your backpocket so hang in there.

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
Typically I do pretty well on finals. But this year, my fluid mechanics final is worth 60% of my grade. :( So needless to say I'm pretty nervous about that.
To the music major - I used to play flute in HS, and I think playing in front of judges is the worst!! I had one year where I was so nervous my hands started sweating, and as a result I couldn't get a good grip on the keys in my audition. Kudos to you though, I know music is a hard major, good luck on your finals.

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
I've been working on my thesis this year.
One semester down...one more to go.

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
I'm finishing up my last two classes for my second A.S. (don't ask ) and since they're just gen ed requirements, I took the easiest online classes I could find.
I've got an open-book poli sci test, and a two-question mini-essay test for Eng Lit. It might take me a total of 3 hours, and I'm done until next fall.
Thank you Ratemyprofessors.com! :gj: :D

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
Did my English final last week. FYI, don't take an online advanced English class unless you really like to write. If you sit in class, there's only so much you can contribute to a discussion if anything at all. But online you HAVE to make minimum word posts on everything. In class if you had interest in the topic you can participate, if you don't have much interest you can let those who do lead the conversation. Online it doesn't matter. I don't think the "teacher" taught me anything, just gave assignments and expected them to be done and you should know exactly how to do this because it's not a basic English class. That might be teacher specific. This wasn't my first online class but the first time I felt that way. WOW, that was more than I wanted to say on that....
Took my Calculus final today. I probably should have put more effort into this class, or showed up more, or done more homework on time as three of my classes next semester require me to get a "C" (Calculus 2, Physics 4A, Engineering 25 (Computational Methods of Engineering). I think I missed close to half of the class meetings, all but one quiz and did about 10% of the homework so my grade was almost completely based on test scores. I had a low "C" going into the final and how can I expect differently considering my effort? I sent the teacher an email earlier and asked if he could let me know as soon as possible what my grade is because it plays a big part on next semester. My final score raised my class grade 12% to a low "B"!!! I am so happy about that. I don't care about grades much, that's why I would have been happy with a "C", I think they just tell how good a student you are, not how well you know the subject.
Nutrition and Political Science finals are on Wednesday. In Nutrition I have more than 100% going into the final, teacher gives a lot of extra credit and curves tests, so thanks to the texters and talkers I scored over 100% on 2/3 tests given so far (115, 106, 92). Political Science I have scored high on everything and would pass without taking the final.
Next semester is not going to be fun. There are 3-2-2-1 sections of the four classes I have and a couple overlap times while work eliminates two options. That left me with a schedule that on Mon/Wed I have class from 1030-645 with a 5 hour break. Tues/Thur is 900-340 with a 4 hour break, though there is an optional lab for my C++ class in there. For the first time I have a Friday class, lab day for Physics and a lecture 1000-420 with and 1-1/2 break. I work 8pm-12am (Actually that's when I'm scheduled, I rarely get off by 12am, usually between 1-3am) Mon-Fri with weekends off. This is a fairly new position at work and a reason for many of my absences this semester. I wasn't expecting to have to stay late all the time.

Re: Exam Time..woooohoooo!!!!
I am done with two of my exams, the remaining two are looming over me. I have one tomorrow at noon which will be my toughest, I have over 400 notecards to memorize. The worst part is, the professor is only picking 4 terms out of those 400 to put on the test, but I have no idea which she will choose, so I have to know them all.... sucks. My other final is an essay, so it wont be too tough. Good luck everyone, and dont freak out too much!
