I've tried many things to keep the humidity up in the tanks, spagum moss in a container with holes in it. live plants, many other things.. times are hard these days and I dont have alot of cash to spend on some machine.. if anyone knows a good CHEAP way to keep the humidity up.. PLEASE let me know. thanks inadvance

    Cheers

Do you have a screen lid for the tank? If you can afford it buy some plexi glass and caulk it to the top. Otherwise if you cant afford plexi glass then wrap the lid of the tank with aluminum foil and put a damp towel on the top. Make sure to leave about a quarter of the tank open so air will get in. If you keep your towel damp then you should see an increase of humidity :D

try just getting a simple spray bottle and mist the enclosures as nessesary. thats the most simple inexpencive and working solution there is.

I agree but without anything covering the top of the tank the humidity will just go right out the top and you will have to mist multiple times a day.

Get the top covered and mist once a day and you should be fine :)

Damp cloth works well, also (in conjunction with), depending on the size of the animal, a very LARGE water bowl.

I got mine at the dollar store and my humidity went from 37% to 75% sustained. Total cost, $1.

    Good Luck!

I respect your spelling of Zeke, but my ball python's name is Zeek. I didn't ask how the previous owners spelled it and this is what I chose. Let there be Zeke and Zeek.

Everyone's happy. I posted a story about my python and everyone called him Zeke even though that's not how I was spelling it. Really it's not that big of deal but your username is "Zeke" so I'm blaming everything on you. :P

I find that putting regular tin foil on a lid can get rather messy. At the home depot they sell aluminum foil tape for $6 a roll. Just tape the top of the screen lid with it and it looks much nicer. Then you shouldn't need to put a towel on top. If you keep the towel, you will have to change it out with a clean towel every few days to prevent it from molding.

He's adopted so he didn't come labeled. People here who have seen his picture said he was a reduced pattern (normal?).

when i used to keep my balls in terrariums with screen lids i simply used to place a water bowl over the uth. the wider the bowl the higher the humidity i would find. to trap it i would just cover three quarters of the lid with a black towel. worked like a charm for me.
