    $3/Mouse
Perhaps you folks can help me find f/t mice that don't cost nearly $3 apiece.

So far I've been buying them from PetSmart: $11 for 4. Looking online, the price per mouse is under $1, but with shipping around $40, that brings it back up to the $3 range.

Since we have only 1 snake, I'd order only a pack of 25. He now eats 2 mice at a time (arond 40g total), and won't touch a rat.

At The Mouse Factory, 25 adult mice comes to $61 ($17.50 + $41.50).
    RodentPro comes to $58.82 ($10 + $48.82)
PetIceBox shows $28.50 shipping, but I can't find mouse prices.

    Any suggestions?

I get a $100 shipment every few months with no shipping, but you can get shipping discounts in Cali.

Thanks. Unless I'm misunderstanding, I'd have to order at least $100 worth ("Our Minimum order is $100 before shipping.") which would be 4 packs ($30/pack) = 200 mice!!!!

I have a ball that would only eat mice. I still have to dangle a live mouse in front of her and get her in full blown feed mode and rub the mouse on the f/t rat but she does end up taking it.

Hm, guess I didn't notice you only have one snake.

You're probably not going to find any cheaper than what you're already purchasing for a single snake.

Thats an awesome website! The only realy good reason why I havent tried F/T is because of the ~$50 shipping fee, thats ridiculous...

Im gonna try F/T when I get my hands in a small freezer. Thanks! :gj:

The only way buying F/T online will be worth it is by buying bulk (100+ at least).

If you do not have many animals try to see if someone in your area wants to order with you so you can split the cost.

Your next option if neither are a possibility is to breed your own.

Another option that will come with time is "BUY MORE SNAKES" woohoo! Then the price of the rodents drops. At least that is my stupid logic of the day. :taz::rolleye2::banana:

Check out your local reptile show. They usually sell bags of 20-40 for $10-15. Then again, I am spoiled by the bi-monthly show here in Chicago land. Not sure if there is one is cali.

Your best bet would probably be a local herp supply (or more snakes)...I did both... ;)

The shipping is free after 100+ purchase with most states, and discounted with others. But the shipping makes sense because they have to pack it with dried ice, insulation and it has to be 1-2 night shipping.

I just searched my area and found this:

    Walker’s Reptiles & Rodents™

I know this is not in your area and wont help much, but it may help someone out in Ontario who is reading this. Im going to give them a call and Ill post how much it costs total with shipping in case anyone is interested. Cheers!

don't feel bad I gotot order mixed sizes of rodents and it was an issue whe nthe entire $200 + bucks worth of rodents went bad cause i didn't use them up fast enough.. I was using live rodents to feed with out thinking of just putting them on ice and use the already frozen ones up .. but with 23 snakes I got though about 200 rodents a month.
