Haha, they'll need to purchase all their anti-venom elsewhere and wont be able to use it as an export.

    Silly Canadians.

Interesting list. What is the difference between 'controlled' species and 'restricted' species? There must be some pretty important game farm concerns up there, I noticed a distinct absence of exotic deer and antilope species. I guess it's not allowable to keep certain animals for pets, but if you can get someone to pay you to shoot one you've raised it's perfectly hunky dory. They did a pretty thorough job of listing snakes that were even remotely venomous, even those with such weak venom that the only way it could be harmful to a person would be to freeze the snake solid and hit someone over the head with it.

This is a pretty good example of legislators gone wild, just making stuff up as they go.

Well at least you can move to the next town and then keep whatever .
This is a provincial regulation effecting the whole province.

Controlled species are now going to be 100 % illegal to keep and breed or transport without permits.
Restricted species you can keep and breed without permits until they reach 3 meters ( 9 feet 8 inches ).

I may be looking at something outdated or perhaps just miss interpretting it all together but,

The prohibited animals section at the top of page 21

But I know for a fact that the SPCA came to my petstore location and told us we couldn't keep our sav. anymore and had to send it to another location, and we haven't been allowed to order BPs from the get go but many of our other locations sell them.

Yes that is a long list but you can still have some animals in your PROVINCE by moving to a different city The law is different in say Toronto .where in BC the new regulation is in effect every where in the entire province.

Yea I totally understand that and was just trying to spread my grief about the different silly laws that currently exist around Canada. But I totally sympathize with your situation and didn't mean to take away from that. :grouphug:
