    That's a sweet lookin' ratrack! I do have a couple of questions, if you don't mind . . .

    A) Why did you place the feed along the sides of the rack?

    B) Why does the water line drop to the bottom level, and then wind its way back up?

    Thanks!

I used the rat rack plans from clay davenports plans but his were in the middle to divide for the food but I thought that was too much so I did what I felt was sufficient enough for food.

Again this is the way the water system was run by clay davenports plans and it works just fine. Talking to him he says that run this way it keeps the pressure better to the entire rack. It seems to have great water feed to every nozzle.

    A) It keeps it from getting so spread out, that they can't get ahold of it...?

    B) I was wondering the same thing myself...:weirdface

    C) Do you worry about supporting the underside of the tubs?

No I just rather have a smaller area for food for them than half the entire tub.

And no I think there is plenty of ledge on the tubs for sufficient support. I don't have any tubs that sag or bend at all.

There are a few places you can get the nozzles. The cheapest place I have found is www.klubertanz.com they are the 3/16" sippers and tubing and T's and of course the bucket attachment.

No I have looked at TSC and they didn't have the sippers just the connectors like the T's and stuff

    nice looking racks!
the only thing i would have changed would be to add more levels closer together.

yeah well even with that spacing its tough to get the food the whole length of the tubs now so with less it would be next to impossible.

I agree about putting the levels closer together and adding feed. I have built a few racks and it seems every rack I build I tend to put the levels too close together trying to save space. I put my food at the back with a stopper bar so only 1/3 of the pan has food over it. It can be difficult to add feed. I find it easiest to add feed when I clean. I take the top tub out and add feed to the level below it since it has plenty of room with the tub above it removed. Other than that I think it looks great.

Yeah as said before I used plans for the rack from Clay Davenport and he has made plenty of these so I was confident in using the spacing measurements he provided. And as well as the way I ran my water system. Everything came together well even though I had to modify my rack to fit the height clearance in my basement I still used all his measurements. All I did was instead of 6 tubs high I went 4 and then added 4 more to it which gave a total of 8 tubs instead of the 6 tubs his was made to fit. But I have plenty of width room in the basement but not enough height so it worked out great for me.
