my biggest fear about breeding is not being able to sell the off spring. i might hold some back like the killer be maybe a spider and a super pastel if i were to get those.. but id want to sell the rest.. but how do you do that with out putting up your own web page? because i wouldn't want to do that yet not until id be sure id make enough to pay for that on top of everything else...
soo i gues my question is what other ways is there to sell them.. and to who? any ideas would be great! cuzz i really want to get into breeding but i don't want to get myself into a place where id have too many snakes .. and not enough money to take care of all them and myself..

#1 rule in breeding: be prepard to keep everything you breed
Re: Who to sell to!!?????
the only prob wit sellin to a pet store is you will prolly only get 1/3 the money that the snake is realy worth.. but i gues thats better then nothing lol

Re: Who to sell to!!?????
Faunaclassifieds. Determine how long you can keep them. If that time passes and all the snakes aren't gone, then go to local exotic shops and see what you can haggle.

If you are personable, flexible and willing to sell and/or trade, it should work out good.
Re: Who to sell to!!?????
Theres a lot of places. For the short term I would say king snake, craigs list, pet shop i would only wholesale my normals. In the long term going to reptile shows who be good also.
Re: Who to sell to!!?????
In those two years, participate in forums, help new herpers when you can, let folks get to know you on the forums. Then, when you have babies, you've built a reputation for being helpful and a good keeper. You are able to advertise here in our classifieds, and there are other classifieds available as well.
But as someone else said - be willing to keep all that you produce, there's no guarantee that you'll sell everything.
I don't generally sell my normal males that I produce. I personally keep an eye out here on the forums when someone new might mention that they are looking for a new snake and offer a well started male to them at no cost, other than shipping, and I also check my local Craigslist for people who might be looking for their first snake, and contact them and talk to them about what they've done to prepare, and if I feel they're ready - I let them come over and pick out their new baby.
Had a really nice couple who ended up adopting two of my normal males I produced this year. They came to pick one and the husband and wife each fell in love with a different one. They told me who they wanted, and then waited another week or two to get them, until after their Ranco thermostat came in, and their tubs were set up and temps stabilized. They are head over heels in love with their boys, and took me out for dinner a few weeks later as a thank you. Although knowing my boys are in a home that loves them and will take great care of them is thanks enough for me!
I love being able to help a new herper get into the hobby with a nice well started male (especially for a new herper who just wants a nice snake, and isn't particular about sex).
Re: Who to sell to!!?????
Everyone has covered most everything (and they've given some great advice IMO), but I do want to add this:
webs.com allows you to make a free website. It doesn't cost anything to create your pages, and it's very user-friendly for the computer-illiterate among us (myself included ;)). It's good place to advertise. It won't let you have a custom domain name unless you purchase one, but it will give you a domain like yoursite.webs.com or something. You might be able to use that as well to showcase your for-sale reptiles.
Best of luck with your breeding endeavors!
Re: Who to sell to!!?????
Just go on many forums. kijiji, graigslist and here! Also you can give them away and they will go fast if it's the last resort and you can't afford to take care of them all! I know others have suggested these but I am just giving my option of the best ones that I think! You can always get rid of them!!!
Re: Who to sell to!!?????
I would worry about selling them when the time comes. So until then learn everything thier is about your snakes so you can pass it on to those future buyers.:gj:
