cinnamon - light or dark?
What does everyone think...
Do darker cinnys produce darker supers?
Do the lighter cinnys produce "better" pewters?

I like very light colored cinnamons, but I like very dark black pastels. They both have interesting traits to offer.

Agree with MarkS--I think these two morphs shouldn't be line-bred to look the same. Black Pastels look fantastic when they are super dark with lots of black, and cinnies work well when they have lighter, richer colors.
However, I want to say that the SHADE of brown in a cinnamon is more important to me than how dark it is. I think the brown of a cinnie should be a darker shade of brown than that of a typical normal.

I agree.
I also like the patterns that seem to run together on the sides of a lot of cinnys.

I like very dark high contrast patterned blacks, and I like both the light and dark cinnies...
But for a blushed cinnie to catch my eye it has to be very blushed with high white sides.

Re: cinnamon - light or dark?
I'm actually a bit split between a black pastel and cinnamon. I like the results that a black pastel brings out in pairings like: 8 balls, pewters and other combos.
But I do like the general appearence on a cinnamon.
I've also noted that people charge more for a black pastel than a cinnamon. Does that mean a black pastel is more 'exclusive'? I'm a bit curious since I don't have any co-doms.

I like a cinni with even color and very bold patterns..
Re: cinnamon - light or dark?
I didn't expect the poll to be so even. Right now it's 10 for light and 10 for dark.
Interesting.

I agree, it really is kind of an eye opener. Right now DARK Cinnamons are in the lead, even over black pastels. I'm pretty surprised by that because I've alway thought 'why bother' with a dark Cinnamon when you have the option of a black pastel instead. To me Cinnamons should be Cinnamon colored, not dark.
Re: cinnamon - light or dark?
I agree with the majority here, a nice coffee brown cinnamon that has the yellow/cinnamon pattern and some nice back blushing is hard to pass up.
Re: cinnamon - light or dark?
I tend towards the darker cinnamon, but I don't care nearly as much about that aspect as I do about the floating neck patterns, which I think is truly the defining trait of the morph.

For sure, thats what I love about the blacks too, and the blackbellies only highlight that trait so much more :)
