    My best childhood photo ever
So I'm new to keeping snakes (I currently have only 1 BP) but it seems I've fallen head over heels in love with them, and cannot wait to expand my collection when the time is right. I have to admit, I'm quite obsessed at this point and my obsession only seems to get stronger every day- I never imagined that my universe would revolve around a BP, or any snake for that matter lol.

So I was randomly digging through my baby photos the other day... It's all starting to make sense now :P

This photo was taken 3 days before my 3rd birthday. Written on the back of the photo; "Dee Dee and her friend, 1989" Please excuse the quality, as it's a 20 year old polaroid.

Thought this was cute enough to share :)

Wow, that is the ultimate picture for a snake lover. You need to go to a photo restoration place and see if they can clean it up at all and put it in a fabulous frame and put it in your home!

Very nice pic. You had no memory of playing with the snake?

I had a pet squirrel as a kid, but I think your snake could eat my squirrel! :O

I agree, getting it framed would be quite nice. :)

Unfortunately, I have no memory of the snake. According to my mother, I was quite interested in him; more so than the other animals at the zoo.

Your pet squirrel would've been no match for that baby burm!! Muahahah! :P

I hadn't even thought of getting this photo restored, I will definitely have to look into that!

    Thanks guys & gals :D

Sweet! The only childhood memories of snakes that I have is of my mother's Albino Cornsnake she had in the early 90s and I remember stepping on quite a few rough scaled green snakes and the occasional copperhead (I lived in the country).

Was this taken at York's wild kingdom by chance? I live kind of close to that place.

vindicatedornot - Thanks for giving it a try! Not bad at all, looks better than the original, thank you!

granitestate - The zoo was in Florida :) I was on vaca with my mom visiting my grandfather. It has been forever since I've been to York's Wild Animal Kingdom, I'll have to put that on my list of things to do for summer 2010 :D

Awwwwwww. So cute. That's the second best picture I've ever seen on this site. First place goes to a member in Africa who brought his snake to work one day to show his co-workers.

    Welcome!

Nice, I made it there a couple times this summer, though the amusement park section is a bit run down, it is still a pretty good time and just a stones throw from the beach.

Great pic. My mom has a pic of me (5-6 at the the time), wearing a hawian shirt with a red macaw on my shoulder. I looked like a tiny magnum p.i., the 80's were a magical time. ;)

lol! I believe it's possible he weighs more than I do now :P I don't know a ton about burms, will a male possibly grow to weigh more than 120LBs? lol

It would be unlikely, yet amazing to see him again :)

My parents would have had a stroke on the spot if I had done something like that. I loved snakes as a child and loved going to the reptile house at the zoo, but that's as close as they let me get - thank goodness I'm a grown up now.

What a super cute picture, thanks for Sharing!

lol is that 120 lb wet or dry for you lol.. I got one of my niece with the redtail boa i rescued and she claims it her snake it so funny. the girl is 12 and not scared one bit but her 9 year old brother isa large chicken when it comes to the snakes.

most likey that burm either still there, in somone private collection or else were if it ever got loose during those hurricanes a couple years back( worst he died from some moron injuring it.

I needto toake a trip to the local zoo and laugh at their collection of reptiles cause the last time I was ther they had a redtail ,and a bunch ofbp in a single cage with no real heat and chicken wire cage sides ( 1/4in mesh)
