And thats only 30minutes of it I believe. I believe it was nearly two or three hours long. I would love to see the entire thing.

Re: HR2811 video i recorded
Thanks very much.......How do we get to see the whole hearing?

Re: HR2811 video i recorded
I couldn't make it past the first two minutes not because of their ignorance but because of how dull they speak.

Re: HR2811 video i recorded
Thank you so much for posting this!
My beefs:
1. Guy from fish and wildlife: Everglades is in jeopardy! So let's ban all of them across the entire country! Yeah, that makes sense.
2. Boa constrictors don't live too much farther south than the U.S. border. If they were able to survive in U.S. habitats, they'd be here already! (Only rosy boas survive in the U.S.)
3. Did anyone notice that there are more households with reptiles than supporters of HSUS (1/20 vs. 1/28)? I found that amusing.
4. HSUS: Our mission is to "extoll the human and animal bond." Yeah, right. Not wanting any animal to be a pet is "extolling" this bond? My fat butt.
5. HSUS says they're all for preventing animal cruelty and promoting animal welfare. And yet, they expect us to continue to properly care for our snakes when no one sells the proper feeders, bedding, housing, etc. because the ban killed the market?
6. HSUS emphasizes that the bill doesn't ban ownership; it just bans the import, export, and interstate sales. Um, exactly how does this help the Everglades?
7. Since when do the large constrictor snakes "grow very quickly" and can "quickly escape their enclosures"? Boas, especially, are fairly slow-growers. Even some species of python grow fairly slowly. It's not like people wake up the next day and find a 20-foot snake in their bedroom.
8. Since when were boas "established and breeding" in Florida? I've only seen evidence of Burms and some African Rocks.
9. OH, no! A Burm ate someone's pet goose! HEAVEN FORBID! We should remove all great horned owls from Arizona because they sometimes eat people's cats and small dogs! We should kill all wolves because they sometimes eat livestock! Grrr.
10. That one guy toward the end said these snakes have been found "all over the state" (Florida). Really? Show me where Burms have been found in Orlando. Or Tallahassee. Or the western Panhandle.
11. Interesting how this guy keeps talking about the danger these snakes pose to neighborhoods and children. Remind me, fella, how many wild Burms have killed people? OH, YEAH. NONE. The accidents are all caused by irresponsible owners!!!!
12. Again, they're all talking about the effects of these snakes in Florida. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY NEED TO BE BANNED IN ALL STATES!!!!! GAH.
These politicians need to take a basic logic class before they're allowed to be on these committees. Anyone who has taken the most introductory science or philosophy class could pick out the fallacies and misleading comments being spewed by these people. ARGH.
How in the world do we expect other countries to listen to us and respect us when people believe this kind of drivel? How can we expect to be a world leader with these kinds of people making our laws?

amen brother , that was beautifully written, could have not said it better my self......
and dont for get some of the wild domestic dogs that people just abandon out in the country around the us and they kill any thing from livestock to other domestic animals and inter breed with coyotes, and some wolves in the western and north western states....and also all the wild cats that prey on endangered birds and small mammals in and around the states..... where have we ever heard any thing about that i dont see them trying to go around and kill them or control any of that,,, hell i have to go out and wait my amo on stupid wild dogs and cats,,, i hate doing it but the dang dogs try to get at my horses and cattle,,, where do we seeing these apposed killer pythons doing that WOW a goose go catch or buy a new one, its a goose ,not that is bad or wrong to own a goose its that people hunt them every winter,,,, and the thing about eating alligators,,, it kind of a win win sort of deal because we all know that they it the babies,,, and the burms eat their babies,, i dont know much about the alligator population in Florida is but isnt there alot of them ,,, and anit people hunting them too and i want to see a burm try to eat a full grown panther or what ever the big cat is down there ,, yeah its possible that one as ate one of those big cat but wheres the proof, there just trowing stuff in the air and saying it to hear their selves talk, hell i have a mother inlaw that does the same thing wheres that getting her, no where beside a head ache that she gave her self,,,, and why dont they just let some of us go down there to wrangle up some snake for our selves, heck a buddy of mine did that this spring and when he told me he did i went to his house to see her, it was about 3 feet long and some what nippy but shes doing great and acts like it has been in captivity its whole life,,,,, i saw no killer and its about 4-5 feet in length now,,, here it goes again WOW it grow so quickly its a monster man eater now,,,,lol,,

Re: HR2811 video i recorded
I feel like there's absolutely no real facts to backup HR2811 that any of the supporters presented.
It just angers me that they don't even realize almost none of the snakes they are trying to ban could even survive anywhere in the US.
Biggest thing that angers me though, mostly because I own one, is banning BP's. All of us BP keepers / breeders / etc know how specific of a climate BP's need and i'm sure we can all realize very quickly how no BP could ever survive outside captivity in the Us, let alone start a successful breeding colony.
Here's just another example of people over-reacting and trying to stomp on things they don't understand and hurt others in the process just to make themselves feel better and more important.
