i'd have to say regular Pied. Has got some nice yellow on the belly... but that dosent make him a Yellow Belly. Any particular reason you question whether he's a YB?

Search the forum for Pumpkin Pied... one was posted last season and they really are quite distinct looking in color from a regular pied (and definitely one of my favorite pieds actually).

I want to say it was produced by Justin... but not 100% on that.

I believe the Pumkin Pied actually has a hidden gene in it also. So it is a yellowbelly pied with the "X" gene I think he calls it(Justin Kobylka). But he did produce some yellowbelly pieds out of the same clutch though.

Yeah... it got the better of me. As noted Justin thinks there is something else going on with this line, so I guess it is not the best one to compare to (remember being just blown away when I saw them for the first time!).

Might want to find a few threads from the others that have hatched them out to see if you may actually have one?

He may have gotten a Piebald from Justin, but I know for a fact that Justin has only made 1 Yellow Belly Piebald and 2 Pumpkin Pieds to date. And 2 of those were made this year.

    Again made in this clutch:

I am a close friend of Justin's have work very closely with him on his website.

    You've Got PM BTW.

Do you mean a clutch mate? Because the Clutch that contained the Pumpkin Pied in '08 didn't have another Piebald in it:

Sounds to me like you got lied to my friend.

    Ninja Edit:
I just double checked his Incubator, and he only had 2 clutches where Yellow Bellies were involved, 1 being Pumpkin Pied and the 2nd being a "Who's your daddy" clutch that had nothing to do with Piebalds.

I think I may know who he got his collection from...I don't know any names but I'll be making a couple of phone calls in the morning. If it is who I think it was I'm afraid you may have gotten ripped off man.

Even if it is a regular pied it is worth the $700 imo. Stinks that you were told it was something else but still definately not a loss.

The pictured pied is a normal piebald that I produced last season. I only produced one Pumpkin Pied last year and it is still with me. Like others said above, $700 is a good deal for a pied of that size, I just wish you hadn't been told that is was also a YB. I never gave the seller that impression.

Get some meals in that boy, looks like he could use it! :)

Pied. There isn't much (any) indications of influence from a yellowbelly. But it still looks very nice! :)
