Alert: Have You Seen This Snake?

This snake belongs to me. However, she has disappeared from the breeder that she was at, and was discovered missing when she was due to be shipped to me.

If you see her listed for sale, or see anyone who is posting pictures of her as a newly acquired animal, please contact me immediately for a monetary reward, if it leads to her recovery. Here is her photobucket folder for comparison pictures.

If you are the person who took her, please contact me to make arrangements to ship her to me, and I will not press charges. However, if someone else provides me with information that leads me to you - I will swiftly take legal action to recover her, including filing a police report of her theft.

If she was sold to you, she was not legally owned by the person who sold her to you - and I will work with you to replace her with another enchi instead. I will require that you reveal all the contact information of the person who sold her to you.

I believe that her looks are unique enough that she is very easily identifiable.

Yes, it is believed that someone went into the racks and physically removed her from the premises.

If the breeder is out my way I'd be happy to look into it in a personal fashion.

So the only thing missing is an Enchi?

Are you sure it didnt just escape?

Or were there other snakes missing as well?

Seems fishy that someone would steal and Enchi....out of an ENTIRE collection......the Enchi?!?!

More snakes were taken besides just her. The entire tub that had her marked as "Robin's Enchi" was gone - the breeder has gone through the entire stock - including looking into tubs of normals to make sure someone wasn't hiding her.

Yes, the breeder is working with me on a replacement animal, with the option to trade back if somehow she shows up again. I am confident that they have done all that they can to locate her on the premises and that she is not there.

No complaints with the breeder and how they are handling this - I just feel like I need to do SOMETHING to get the word out, so that if she's ever posted for sale, I have more eyes helping me find her - or if someone posts "brag" pictures about a new acquisition.

How many snakes were taken? If it was a large number of snakes, the breeder might have some luck in asking all the local stores that sells feeder rodents; ask around if anyone has been recently buying even to feed the number of snakes that was taken.

I'll help keep a look out for your lil enchi girl. Hopefully you'll be able to get her back.

Robin, does this breeder not remember who has had access to his/her collection? Or can anyone just view the collection? Is the collection at there home or in another facility? Do they have kids?

Just seems odd...I am aware of everyone who comes in our house, let alone who I expose my collection to. Unless they leave people with there collection unsupervised on a daily basis, I would you could start questioning individuals that the breeder recently had over. Unless it was a forced break in and robbery...? :confused:

The breeder is not an issue here. The breeder is remaining nameless for a reason. The animal was stolen from the breeding facility along with several others. Please keep in mind not everyone keeps their animals at home.

I am aware that not everyone keeps their animals at home...hence the question I asked, "Is their collection at home, or in another facility?"

So this was a forced entry...where the facility was broken into while nobody was there?

It was either a break in or an employee. Don't know for sure. By the way We aren't the breeder. I just happen to know who it is.

It's one of the big breeders, who has staff and weekend volunteers.

Ok i have a question ? Why was your snake there ? Or did you buy the snake and it was not shipped to you yet ?

But something just doesn't add up here. The buck stops with the breeder. If they don't know who is milling about their facility and don't even know if someone broke in or not... I would be very hesitant to leave an animal there.

When she was originally shipped to me, the stress of shipping induced a very mild RI. The breeder asked that I return her, for them to treat her.

Once she was healthy, she was ready to ship back, I made arrangements for her to be shipped and she, as well as some other animals were discovered missing.

Again - I trust this breeder, and I'm happy with what they are doing. I am looking for THIS ANIMAL, as she was my crown jewel of my collection.

Fact - she was stolen from the facility
Fact - someone who does not own her has her in their possession

I am simply asking for additional eyes to help be on the lookout for her. I hope even, that the person who took her will see this and contact me to return her to me.

The breeder is not in question here, not for me. They are doing all that they can to resolve the issue financially with me, with a replacement animal (maybe not even an enchi - we're still discussing).

I'll keep my eyes peeled as I'm always on the lookout for a new ball and frequent various classifieds. Would it be out of the question to name the city/state the snake was stolen from so locals can keep an eye on craigslist/kijiji?

On a side note, a pied was stolen at the Columbus show awhile back and it was found and returned so hopefully your girl will be as well.

Wow I am really sorry to hear this happened!! I will keep an eye out as I cruise all the sites a lot. Personally I highly doubt someone will put him on a site. They would take a different route to sell him....but anyone that would buy him would not have a clue!

I am terribly sorry! I don't know if I've ever commented, but she is my favorite enchi EVER! I have spent the last few months looking for one online and never being happy enough to order one because they never looked as good as I knew they can because I had her to compare them to! I hope they find whoever took her and she is returned to you ASAP.

Big Gunns everyone here knows that Robin got that snake at NERD, but they are too weak and spineless to call them out on what is obviously a BS deal.

Why aren't you people jumping on them for shipping a sick snake in the first place! Are you all really a bunch of sheepish followers that you will let NERD put one over on one your members?

Big Gunns didn't know who it was and he has no further comment. He should have kept his BIG...no wait.. HUUUUGGGGEEE.....hold on...what's bigger than HHUUUUUUGGGEEEEE......mouth shut in the first place, but he's too much of a flapper to do that.;)

BG suspected it was someone he knew well(which should have made him keep his mouth shut):D. BG has no "hero worship" with Nerd...although he's pretty sure Leeetle Kevy(BG's nickname for the leeetle fellah) worships him.:D


Anyway, Kev and Kara are friends(well he thinks they are...they may say different):tears::tears:..... and no matter what the circumstances, BG is sure they'll make it right.

Not sure who took the jelly out of your doughnut, but this thread is about finding an animal. It's not about your opinion of the breeder. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but what do you actually know about this situation?
I don't see any "hero worship" going on here. Friend or not Robin is a customer and they stand behind their animals.
If you have some sort of beef with them that's your business, but this is not a BOI thread and I believe those comments were out of line in this thread.

speculation can go all day on who the big breeder was, but that doesn't matter...because sooner or later the snake or it's offspring will be for sale.

i dont cruise many ball python classifieds, but i will keep my eye out as well.

I see any ads without pics and I will be asking for pics to see... good luck Robin, I know you were very sweet on this girl.

When did this happen? If it was recently it might not have been a good idea to raise the red flags and set phasers to stun right off the bat. The criminal minded MIGHT have tried to sell the animal on FC or some other venue but wont and cant now that the enchi patrol is about. Its going to end up being some closed doors, hidden deal with another criminally minded individual. Then again, if said individual is stupid enough to post the animal on a public forum or any other mass advertising venue, this thread is a good idea. I hope you find your enchi, and Ill keep my eyes peeled. Unfortunately the chances of your animal coming around this way is slim to none, so I have only the resources of FC, BP, KS, and OF at my disposal to see any ads posted for enchis. Good luck, seriously. Cant imagine something like this happening, but the world has seen stranger.

I'll be looking around for her Robin, I can't believe this happened I'd be so mad!!! I'm so sorry this happened to you. I've heard of these thefts and switching of animals before, big breeders, big collections, need cameras bottom line.

I have no clue about NERD and thier practices, but, I can say that I had a "BEST" friend steal from me one time(I knew him for 10+ years). I don't think that it is a bad idea for anybody to know where this took place. Maybe, just maybe, one person that affiliates with NERD knows of this enchi but has no clue that it was actually stolen due to the fact that out of respect for Kara and Kevin nobody has said anything. Regardless of who is envolved, the whole situation has sounded fishy to me from the start. If I was in NERD's position and one of my hired help or volunteers ripped a snake off that belonged to truley "best" friend of mine, I was would not hesitate to fire every single one of them and hire new help. Not to mention, if I did not already have surveillence(which I should due to having one the most pruceless collections in the industry), would have surveillence installed.
