Need advice on a trade, been really eating at me

I got a question about a trade situation. I can trade my female albino straight up for a 1600g mojo female plus an early 09 spider, or trade it plus some cash and get two mojo females + a fire female all in the 400g range, plus I could get another 100g or so lesser for another 375 on top of that.

The adult mojo is enticing but the guy I would be getting her from seems pretty new to snakes, had no refs on fauna and wanted to send at the same time (he did, or someone with the same user name, had a lot of positive feedback on an invertibrate forum) so I am still kinda leery about that trade. Or I could trade her straight up for a really dark pinstripe female.

I am kinda leaning away from the adult mojo/spider trade, I am just too worried about a scam or something. So between the other options (mojos, fire and maybe a lesser, which I have, but think would still be good investments for the future and they are very well started) or a sub adult kinda funky looking dark, dark pinstripe.

Hate to ask such a mundane question, but these trades are really perplexing me.

If you cant find anything positive on fauna ask him for some referances.If he refuses then go with your gutt instinct and RUN AWAY.The shipping at the same time crap(unless they are proving to be trust worthy) has produced to many scams in the end.I hope this helps and let me know if you trade and what you get :gj:

Yeah the only refs he had were from some invertabrate forum. And only a single post on fauna and the deal seems a little too good.

Any advice on going with the pin or the mojos, fire and lesser

I think I know who you are refering too. I was offered an adult mojo for my 200 gram albino and 1200 g male pastel.... I ran away. Something didn't seam right.

Ah ha so that leaves us with the smaller mojos and fires (but it would cost me some dough) or a straight up trade for the pin. The pin is 860g empty. I am leaning that way I think.

I would say, if YOU have an established reputation, ask them to ship first, and go for the Mojo female.
If they won't ship first (or you haven't established your reputation yet), then pick someone else.

I have one pretty firm rule.

I NEVER ship first if someone else offers me a trade. If they want to trade with me, they ship first. I know I can be trusted to do my part. I do not know that about someone contacting me out of the blue.

I had the same thing happen not too long ago. The guy was offering me all sorts of stuff for a boa I have for sale, crying me a story about how he didn't care how lopsided the deal was (he was offering me snakes worth 2 to 3 times what mine was) but that he needed the male to breed. Sent me all sorts of pictures.

Then, he wants to ship same day.

That was the end of it right there. I doubt he had the snakes he sent me pics of.

Had the same thing happen with a guy who got a "free" laptop from dell, begged me to ship same day. Talk about stupidly transparent.

There are always other deals out there.

Wait for a good one.

In general, if you have posted the original add, the person who offers you the trade is the one who ships first. You posted the add; you reserve the right to inspect the animal you're getting before sending out your animal.

Think of it this way: If you were selling the animal for cash, would you ship the animal out without seeing any money?

Ok his only post on fauna was gibberish.Then after doing a search on his full name NADDA.Then a search of his user name NADDA.So i would approach this one very slow and i would tell him since he wants to trade he ships first.Let me know if anything else happens :gj:

Think I am going to trade her for the sub adult pinstripe.

I think you would definitely be getting the bad end of the deal on that one. Unless you really want the pin there is no way I would trade an almost breeder sized female alibino for a subadult pin. If anything I would sell the albino, buy the pin with cash and use the extra money for something else.

yeah I think that is a bad trade + I would never trade with somebody on the internet bad deal.Hold on to her she is only going to be worth more as she gets bigger

Thanks. I ended up trading her for 2 quite nice 450g mojo females and a hot 400g female fire. I added a bit of cash on my end but those are all decently started females that all fit in with my current projects. And I for what I paid for her it's def a good deal.

I try and stay away from trades unless I can do them in person. I got ripped off and decided that was it. I was going to trade 4 albino green burms for a 2.2 spiders about three years ago. We were going to ship on the same day. My wife drops my package off at fed ex while i was working. The other guy never drops his off. I call him and he tells me he wasnt able to get the spiders in a deal he had been working on because the other guy he was trying to work a deal backed out. The crappy thing was this guy takes someone elses pics sends them to me and never even owned the snakes he was trading me. We finally loss contact after a month of me fighting with this guy trying to get something. SO MY RULE TRADES THAT ARE NOT WITH VERY REPUTABLE DEALERS SHOULD BE DONE IN PERSON.

It's with a far as I know reputible seller on KS so I'm treating it just like a sale. I'm not really worried.

Good rule, and I did offer the trade.

Also, I looked him up on fauna's BOI, and got mixed results. He had some problems with shipping but it looks like he has corrected them. But he is definitely no scam artist.

No no no, different person. He has several positive threads about him on the BOI there. Like I said, it was mostly an issue with his shipping which was confirmed he has fixed (he said he'd be using SYR) and some sporatic talk about mites, but those are something I can see fairly easily.
