Special Delivery!

Look what arrived in the mail this morning... :D

Just kidding, LOL. Here's what was in the box, before my kitty took it over - a big (1900g) normal gal named Nerissa, who was a birthday present to myself. Got her from Jeff Flanagan, and while she arrived with a dry nose (either going into shed or rubbed it during the trip), I'm very happy with her! Nice and plump, seems friendly, and should be ready to breed after quarantine. :gj:

Looking at the pictures now, I'm definitely thinking she's just going into shed... do you all agree? She was also roughly handled by the UPS guy (I saw him flipping the box around), so may have bumped her nose on the trip. Those UPS drivers are really starting to tick me off - first an incident with my corn snake, and now this. Tell me again, why do we bother putting "THIS SIDE UP, HANDLE WITH CARE" when they ignore it? :mad:

Definitely looks to me like she's already in shed! She's a cutie, grats!

Thanks! She's checking out every inch of her tub, and just had a nice long drink of water... hopefully the nose clears up once she sheds. ;)

Nice looking girl :gj:.It looks like she is at the tail end of clearing up to shed and once she does shed she should be ok.When she does shed just look at her nose and see if it has any damage.Yes UPS drivers are idiots that are unable to read :mad:

I think it is a trend with bps deciding to shed while being shipped, because the same happened with mine.

As far as the crappy shipping, when my BP was shipped from Atlanta to here is PA in DECEMBER, they did not include heat packs at all!

Its a stress thing. The stress of the move sends them into a shed cycle.* You can pretty much bet on a BP shedding right out of the box. Hasnt failed me yet.

As for the UPS drivers, a new guy delivered my last package and had the box upside down. The other guys know that a package to my house is usually a snake and they handle it appropriately and even wait around for me to open the box to see what cool color snake I received. Lol oh ma, the non-herper world is funny. People who arent part of the magical world of keeping herps need a nickname, like Muggles in Harry Potter.

Actually I did that with my FedEx driver, and after about 5 times, I had a new driver. They told me they fired him; I wasn't the only one with complaints apparently.

So it may not do anything, but it definitely doesn't hurt to complain.

Oh, and what a gorgeous girl! Can't wait for some post-shed pics!

P.S. Love the cat, too! I have a little tuxedo cat who likes to get into mischief just like yours!

For now she's going with Toby (pastel), as he's my only breeding-size male... and since he took to mating with Mona so quickly, I figured I'd give him another girlfriend for the season. ;) Next year I may pair her with my Mojave, since her lighter coloring would compliment him well.

Thanks! I'll definitely post more pictures once she's settled & fully shed... and yes, Bindi (the cat) is very mischievous, but I love her anyway. ;)

I would complain if I were you. I work at fed ex and they watch out for stuff like people putting boxes upside down if there are arrows pointing up or people stepping on boxes. Plus you never know if other people have complained about that driver.

But nice female, I like how in every picture she is looking at you like excuse me I'm busy exploring my new home leave me alone kind of thing.
