    The Candyball revealed to BP.net
Big Gunns is still trying to get the hang of the procedure to post a pic here, so it looks like he's going to post one pic at a time until the so called "genius" figures out how to post multiple pics.:D

Here is BG's first attempt. Many fellow forum losers(BG calls everyone this) like BG may have seen this pic posted elsewhere. This is the Candyball and one of Pete's Lavs when BG first delivered it to him. The Candy is about 150 to 200 grams, and the Lav is at least 250 grams.

BG is going to post two more pics, so you might wanna wait to respond....if you're gonna respond anyway.;):Dhttps://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...lav_129176.jpg

Here is the same Candy at Pete's at about 450 grams. The pic is taken on one of his carts with obviously no special lighting.

Re: The Candyball revealed to BP.net
Here is the Candy breeding when he first came in. He was a stud from the very beginning. He actually came in when BG was in Europe. BG had a buddy pic him up and place him in a rack with a couple of females right away. Big Gunns got back and it was the first thing he looked at. The Stud(like BG) was locked up with a fat female.:banana::banana:

In case you're wondering why no quarantine. It was right in the middle of breeding season and only a fool would wait around to quarantine the animal. Anyway...Ball Pythons right out of the wild are not huge carriers of disease. BG has never had a problem.

OK....hopefully this will straighten a few things out about the Candyball. As you can see from the adult breeding pic......the Candy does have some yellow in it that you don't see in the Toffee. They are most likely the same though, but maybe not compatible.

Hopefully you all like Big Gunns pics. He knows he's no expert, but you don't need to be an expert to take pics of these animals.

    Peace

Like that would be something new.:D

The Candyman is still alive and kicking and so is every female he ever had his way with. It was just waaaayy to big a risk to quarantine it right away.$$$$$$$$$$(you'd understand if it was you). Anyway, like BG said...he has never had a problem. Ball Pythons out of the wild never(not never, but never for BG) pass on anything. The main thing is to treat the adults for internal parasites.

Why don't you mention the IMPORTANT thing that's not in with that WC & female? No water dish while cycling- old trick used by several breeders as extra precaution.

Thats interesting, good catch on the water bowl! I het the fact of why they do that, but, wouldn't the male pass his "herpes" to the girl in other ways;)

Twisted is pretty sure that it is for the transmission of "herpes"; WC snakes are sometimes permiscuous and carry STDs.:D Ralph Davis talks about it also.

AHHHH...another common mistake people make. Pete did not spend one nickel to bring this snake in. The snake was BG's for months before Pete had anything to do with it. Big Gunns did all the breeding the first year.

Big Gunns can prove that he made the right decision also(well kinda). The Toffee came in about 6 months before the Candy. It was treated, quarantined, and stayed at the importers for 6 months before it could be shipped to The Urban Python(needed cites). It was shipped to them about the same time the Candy came in(breeding season). They received it and put it into breeding. It didn't breed anything that first year according to Craig. This was Big Gunns biggest fear. Many WC males NEVER breed. Only a complete total idiot would wait and QT this animal.

Anyway...it's not like BG introduced it to his whole collection. It was only a few females....and it paid off BIG TIME!!!!!!!:banana:

You have to walk in someones flip flops before you can truly make a decision on what you would do. Big Gunns would never EVER eat a rat...but they do on the show Survivor. Big Gunns would NEVER EVER eat a person, but those people in that plane crash did. You can Never judge until you're in the same position.

Yep so you took a calculated RISK & cycled a few girls with him, not like you exposed your whole collection. A smart cookie like you would have the whole breeding group well separated from the rest of his snakes.

I still say QT is Standard Operating Procedure. But I would have done EXACTLY what you did with the Candy male, Neil. Better to risk expanding those genes than not & either he doesn't breed or (God forbid) something happens to him.

BG, could you please tell BG that I appreciate his explanation about the whole QT situation. It seems a lot of aspiring breeders look for shortcuts and saw that picture and out-of-context explanation as a good example where they can cut corners. Thanks for taking the time to explain the entire process/situation. :gj:

I would have probably done the samething if I had the money. Not quarantine an animal, but quarantine a group that will be in contact with it.

Getting it to breed now was a wise decision, who know if he will still want to breed the next years to come.

OOooo you've got me on pins and needles here Neil.

And yeah a lot of things in life do come down to dollars and cents but I don't care if you're God (which you seem to think you are) you are taking a risk with the lives of your animals by introducing a snake just out of the wild without even taking a little time to make sure that it's not sick. Big Gunns did have the importer and his buddy(who knows he sheeyat) look at the snake to make sure it looked healthy before it was introduced to anything. If it was sick, BG wasn't taking it.

BG is not even upset with what he/she is saying. He/she is right, but to every rule, there are exceptions. This is one of those cases...and it appears...like usual...Big Gunns was right. All animals are alive and squirming to this day.:)

I like the candy ball, it's really neato. I like the toffee name better but both names are better then burgundy albino. But whatever you want to call them, I can hardly wait until they drop into my price range.
