What is the best morph to buy?
When you are on a budget, (i MEAN TIGHT budget) What morph is best to get?
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
The best morph to buy would be the one that you like. Why not save your tight budget money for a few months so you can afford something. Otherwise you are going to buy something cheap that could be a poor example of the morph or simply in poor health.
Buy something you like, and dont scrimp because quality and health are reflected in cost more often than not. :gj:

I agree, but i meant i am curious of lesser priced morphs, and would NEVER put a snakes health in jepardy for a cheap buy.
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
IanG Line Black Pastels are like 300ish and produce the most stunning black supers and black combos. Get a female, breed it to a male Pastel, then take any male pewters you get and breed them to that female BAM silver bullets and super black pastels. Well if you're lucky ~_~
Mind that an IanG Black Pastel will be my next snake purchase, and I absolutely adore what they can do genetically (where as I think Cinnamons just fail to pull it off).

Pastel males are around $100 - 150
YB males are around $100 - 150
Spider males are around $200 - 300
Look for the greatest examples though, they wont be much more expensive than the bottom of the barrel examples.

I couldn't agree more with you. I actually did the same thing and is now just waiting to recieve my little gemstone.
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
yellow belly(I really like ivories)
Pastel/ make some nice combos or a supers
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
To breed or to just own? Cause for ownership, any morph'll do...and you'll get the most variation from the wild types. Good luck in your quest to attain a pet with a lifespan like no other.
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
Pastel, Spider or Pin. Base morphs for alot of cool things. You could probably get a pastel and a spider for around 300 for the two. Make Bees. Or pastel to Pin for some lemon blasts. Each will be 1 in 4. Those combos are about as cheap to make as they come.

Trott That was exactly what i needed! thank you so much!
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
there is many base morphs that are cheap, but you have to figure is will it be a pet or do you want to breed at some point.
personally if it was for a pet to maybe breed later i always look for a nice female
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
The best morph to buy is the one YOU can afford and the one YOU really like because ultimately YOU are the one that is gonna be responsible for the animal's care for the next 30 years.
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
I want to keep the parents, and 2 of the offspring, and sell the babies.
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
FIRE very underrated makes everything better when added to a breeding project!
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
Every person here will have a different answer- get what YOU like. The snake is going to live 20-30 YEARS...
Think about what that means. It means the purchase price even if in the low thousands will be less that the cost of life time care.
Ideally, if you're looking to have just a few, go somewhere where you can see the snake in person. Paint jobs are cool, but right now there is only ONE snake in our collection that's not for sale.
He's our 1st BP & a normal patterned guy... and he's affectionate to my guy & me beyond measure. Anyone who tells you these guys don't have much personality have been around enough of them.
So save up, get what you like & both you and your little snakey will be happy.

ive heard of this before can you show me the site or a way to contact
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
NP. Keep in mind that those are show prices. But they were nice quality and from reputable breeders. Just my price checks from my last show.
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
You can always go with what you can afford be happy with it, but you wont truly like it as much as one that you WANT and spend the time getting it even if it takes a long time.
Re: What is the best morph to buy?
My first morph was a spider male and I was on quite a buget then too. In retrospect I should have waited another month and gotten a female, but whatever I love my Sparticus.
Like everyone else says get something you like and if you have to wait a little longer to get it then just be patient (I know it's hard).
I went with the spider bc I love the spider combo morphs....

Ian G. black pastels rock and are fairly inexpensive now for males.
Even if you weren't to breed later, they are awesome to look at on their own.
Here's one we made this past season from an Ian G. Black pastel to a normal.

MIKE@OUTBACK REPTILES is a member here, you could send him a PM if interested in his black pastels :gj:
