    Super or not?
Man, they can drive you crazy sometimes!! Pastel to pastel breeding. Pics taken outside with no flash. Really nice dorcal blushing, not quite the head blushing of some supers, much more vibrant and lighter than his pastel siblings....What's your opinion?

Usually see a lot more blushing, but I think there is enough there to say it's a super and the color looks right. Especially when compairing him to his sibs.

You are right about the head blushing but the body tells a diffrent story. Looking at the side by side with the sib I'm thinking super.

I'd want to wait a month for the full color to develop before calling it--looks like a super now, but hatchlings can be super pale.

I agree, it looks to be a super next to the hatchling but can't tell for sure after the shed. If not, that is one hot Pastel!

I have to say super as well.

The colors on that little beauty is way more vibrant than a normal pastel.

There's a photo of SuperPastel (lemon) at NERDs web-site and I must admit that I see a little resemblance between those two (yours and NERDs).

    Cool animal!

If that thing turns out to be a regular then I really want to see the supers that thing would make.

Looks super enough for me. The lack of the orange high lights as compared to the normal sib is a give away, IMO. :) But just like what they said, give it some time to shed and post again some pics.

Well if it's a boy...he stays with me. If it's a girl she may stay and try and prove her out cause if she is a pastel she should make great looking supers. Basically I think this is a hold back!! lol I will give it a shed or 2 and see what happens.

I guess I meant more in general. Would someone automatically keep anything that they can't tell is a for sure super? But if someone did not want to keep it they would have to sell it as a pastel correct?

Yes...if I sold it today I would sell it as a pastel. Sometimes it's worth keeping and taking a chance.

Definitely looks like a super to me, especially compared to the sibling... heck, I've seen "supers" selling for $700-800 with less head-blushing than yours. He/she is beautiful, no matter what! :):) Have you sexed it yet?

Not yet...I usually wait until it has shed a couple of times to pop them, not sure why, just do. It has had it's first shed, will sex it soon.

    Re: Super or not?
Not really sure, like most have said sometimes pastels come out super pale and darken up with the first shed.

Personally, If it was my snake, I'd hope it was a regular pastel which sounds weird but as a super its a good looking snake but nothing out of this world. As a pastel, that thing is HOT! So I'd personally prefer it be an amazing pastel versus and average Super. Just my :2cent:

I like it for a super.. The blushing on the spine says super to me..the head is blushed white and not purple like I've seen pastels be. I'm voting super..

Do you have a picture of the sides? Do you see a lot of the white extend up from the belly?

My guess so far is Super.

He doesn't really look like a SP to me, but I've been wrong before. If he's not, he's one of the cleanest Pastels I've seen and I can't wait to see the SPs he'll make. :gj: Definitely worth keeping. Good luck with him.

    Re: Super or not?
Within a shed or two, you'll have your answer. I had one earlier in the year that everyone swore was a Super Pastel, but it was a Pastel x Black Pastel breeding. Within a few sheds it was obvious she wasn't a Super; however, she's still the nicest Pastel I've personally seen, but a Pastel nonetheless.

In my opinion, it's a lovely Pastel. Either way, he's a keeper! I'd love to see updated pictures. :)

    Watever
    Re: Super or not?
I would say it's one of the cleanest pastel I have seen of.

The body is of a super but the head is not enough light I think. But I could be really wrong.

You should wait for him to age a bit. I have seen some babies that are soo light that they even look axanthic, but after a few shed the colors are back.

    Re: Super or not?
if that turns out to be a normal pastel, not a super, breed it to your lightest pastels. Find out if you can prove it to be a new line. That'd be FAN FRIGGIN TASTIC! Imagine supers of that. It'd be like having super supers.

    Re: Super or not?
I would say that it is probably a super, but I have hatched out some normal pastels that look very similar.

Would help to see a good picture of the sides...

    An example would be..

Top = Super (Note: super is in shed)
    Bottom = Pastel

I'd say it's a super. Not as much blushing as some, but looks like a super nonetheless.
