Re: what is an enchi??
Yes, they are the names of different morphs. This link will show a few different morphs and how to distinguish them from one another.

Re: what is an enchi??
so to me that just looks like its brighter than the normal, like a higher white contrast or something?

Re: what is an enchi??
Here is an enchi (right) compared to a normal (left). A GOOD enchi will never be mistaken for a normal :)

Re: what is an enchi??
You got it. Its more of a subtle morph then say an albino, or piebald, but it has lots of potential when mixed with other morphs.

Re: what is an enchi??
I'm a newbie to BPs but from the pictures I've seen of enchis of the last few months I see a bit of a webbing pattern due to the fact that the side markings flow up into the dorsal markings. They have higher whites than most normals. And, more yellow in place of brown. Side and dorsal markings often seem to be more of a matched color instead of lighter dorsal marks when compaired to the side markings. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.
Edit: oh yea and the blushing in the darks seems to be more prominent. Of course I've seen some pics of normals that could easily be mistaken for enchi, but those are few and far between.

Enchi balls are velvety in appearance, with heavily-marked, contrasty faces. This is also a reduced pattern mutation, which makes the Enchi an exciting component for refining & enhancing other mutations through designer combos. The Enchi morph is co-dominant trait; the Enchi is the heterozygous form of this morph, while the homozygous form is the Super Enchi. Initially this mutation was called the "Enchi Pastel," however, many ball python enthusiasts have dropped the pastel reference. It's obvious that the Enchi is much more than just another Pastel variation - we've bred Enchis to our Lemon Pastel lineage & hatched a new combo involving both traits, instead of a homozygous ("Super") Pastel of any sort. We're hard at work exploring the potential of this beautiful mutation!

Re: what is an enchi??
I'm glad you all posted those pictures and explanations, because I too have been confused about Enchis! Maybe I wasn't seeing good photos, but to me they just looked like a reduced normal. Now seeing a few nice examples, I'd actually say it's more like a reduced pastel - and I do love the combos they produce. Might have to get me one of those... ;)

Re: what is an enchi??
Enchis are a powerful cleanup morph, they do wonders in combos. Im SO getting an enchi next year, and hopefully a desert too.

Oooooh... the deserts and desert combos I've seen (mostly on ProExotics) are just gorgeous. Unfortunately they're also way out of my price range, at least for now. But dammmm, what I wouldn't do for one of these:
