What morph is more nicer to the eye
A firefly or a super pastel???
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
Its all preference I would say firefly but super pastels are nice.
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I like Super Pastels because the firefly can sometimes just look like a nice pastel.
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
Easily Firefly IMO, They get brighter and brighter, and the combo's with them are amazing. FireBee's, FirePewters, Superflies!!, etc...
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
Firefly. Without even a QUESTION
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I thinks the Firefly is more nicer to the eye.
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I would go with a firefly too
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
Anyone have a picture of a firefly? I'd like to know what they look like..and in a poll like this..we should have a pic of each snake so others know what their judging..lol

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I prefer super pastels, but only if they are NICE ones - as I've seen a few supers that were really "meh" (my regular is better looking). But a hot super pastel impresses me more than a firefly, just because I prefer their coloration... looks more silvery, whereas the fireflies have a brownish hue.
Here's what I'd consider a nice super pastel: http://www.boasandballs.com/Photo%27...r%20pastel.jpg
Another good one: http://www.dragonherp.com/image/Avai...%29PJ-M-03.JPG
And for Maize, here's a firefly BP: http://www.ozzyboids.com/IMAGES/FireFlyM-1.JPG

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I say a nice super pastel. I've seen some fireflies that weren't quite as light/bright as supers. But then, maybe I haven't seen the really nice fireflies yet.

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I'm gonna be the jerk that says -- "it depends on the individual!"
I've seen some *amazing* super pastels, and some super pastels that I had to squint to see the "super." (More like a "mediocre homozygous pastel" than a "super pastel" :P )
I've also seen some "meh" fireflys and some WOW fireflies.
Overall, though, I have seen more NICE fireflies than NICE super pastels, so I guess I'd go with firefly ... That and I *might* be getting a firefly on Friday :please:

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
Firefly arn't much as babies, yea their nice, but not like super pastels, super pastels stay nice looking their whole life. firefly need time to color up.
tho i would much rather own a firefly hands down, but i voted super pastel.
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I think fireflys age better. Supers look nicer as babies though.
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
This is why i voted firefly. Maybe its bc it was laying on white, and sitting next to an albino. but that yellow is just way too cool. Notice how big it is, and how NICE it still looks.

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I'm getting in a nice Banded Firefly, so I'm got it on my mind. Super Pastels can look good too. :)
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
In general, I'd have to go with firefly - even though my SP girl is smokin'! I like the BRIGHT yellows. :D
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
Certainly depends on the individual.
Firefly's are nice, but to me a great super is awesome.
Check out these produced by Markus Jayne! (his pic).

I got to go with firefly

this is when she was around 200 grams she is even brighter now at 900 grams

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
It all depends. I've seen crappy fireflies (though not very often) that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, but a NICE firefly (y'know one that is selectively bred?) is absolutely beautiful! And the nice thing about them is they get even better looking as they get older.
It's the same with super pastels though they do sometimes brown out a bit as they get older.
For breeding purposes though I'd have to say a firefly. Gotta love a snake carrying two genes, both with a super form!

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
Firefly !
But don't judge on the picture !
I also saw some Super Pastel that were crazy, but most of them didn't stand a chance next to a firefly. Imagine a Super Fly now :)
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I like fireflies for some reasons (contrast of the black to bright yellow) and I like supers for the high blush, flames, etc. But overall I like Fireflies the best, currently one of my fav morphs. But not all pastels and fires are created equal... thus not all fireflies and superpastels are the same... :)

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
i like a really nice looking super pastel
-
Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I would have to say Firefly. They look great out of the egg and only get better looking. Plus the breeding potential.
Super Pastels look great as babies but still brown out as adults. Yeah there are ones out there that have held their color and look great as adults but I choose FIREFLIES.

Ah, you bet me to it! I didn't vote because of a lot of the above. I have got a very nice superpastel and originallly got him to father fireflies but he is gorgeous in his own right so, yes, it all depends... I didn't vote for that reason.

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I prefer the fireflies, that yellow is awesome.

Re: What morph is more nicer to the eye
I love Super Pastels, but nothing gets more of a reaction than my firefly. It is an exceptional morph, extremely clean and the yellow appears opaque and almost painted on.

x2
anything with even average fire genes in it only gets nicer as it gets older. more than you can say for most BP morphs.

Not the greatest photo of my Firefly. I'll try to take natural daylight photos tomorrow...
He is very bright yellow and there are no dark or brown scales in his yellow blotches.
