    Is she average?
This is my 2 1/2 yr old female rtb I feed her a hopper rat every 2 weeks. What I'm worried about is she seems very small.here are some pics any input would be very welcome.

How long is she? If a hopper rat is how big around she is, that sounds fine, but IMO a 2 1/2 year old rtb could probably take down medium to large rats.

we have a boa who's about a year and shes downing med-large rats every two weeks now. You can prolly move yur boa up there. Our ball python is on rat hoppers right now and hes also about a year.

shes about 2 1/2- 3 feet long......i feed my 4 yr old bp med-lg rats and my boa is now where near big enough to take on something like that....could there be something else making her be smaller?

A hopper rat every two weeks doesn't sound like very much food to me. I would be feeding her a food item the same girth as her once every seven days.

Then I'd just say she hasn't been fed enough.

    Good looking girl!

I feed mine every 4 or 5 days a rat that is the same size and the widest part of the body. And if any of my ballpythons dont eat my redtails get an extra one. Yours seems way underfed.

You can up her feeding schedule every 2 weeks is nowhere near what she needs. Check this out it shows you how bad feeding every 2 weeks can be. Rather interesting growth comparison experiment. Its not on Boas but I think this experiment speaks for any snake.

Like everybody else said, feed her more! ;)

Each meal should leave a noticable lump. At 3 feet she should be able to take a small rat every week.

Of course, every snake grows differently but that does seem a bit off. Have you personally had her for 2.5 years, or were you told she was that old?

She's gorgeous!!! I love the big eyes. That's one looker you got there! :gj:

Yes, she does seem to be small for her age. Maybe there's a genetic factor coupled with the slow feeding routine that has caused her to be smaller than average. I strongly believe that a slow feeding schedule is a healthy feeding schedule for snakes. She could afford to gain a bit, but she's not underweight and she looks perfectly healthy. I'd say maybe bump up the feeder size a notch, but you've got a beautiful, healthy snake; there's not much to worry about. :)

I have a yearling(shes about 18 months now) that is almost 5 feet long. Baby boas should eat at least every 5 days. Juvies once a week.

Your boa is small, but correct her feeding and she's fine!

I like the tree you have set up for her!
