I need to learn to drive... and get cooler friends

I went to walmart and remembered when I was there that my friend has no money for a couple weeks and her and her roommate are pretty much starving. So I asked my friend's prospective girlfriend (who had been asking me for bio help, which I gave her) for them to come pick me up (since she was asking me for bio help and clearly they weren't doing anything important)...

They said no :/ And I had to carry like 30 pounds of groceries, about 15 pounds of which I hadn't intended on purchasing, about two miles. :(

Wow. If they said no to me, I'd have left their groceries at the store and told them to pick it up themselves. That's really weak.

She doesn't know I'm getting her food, I just am. But she does owe me since I end up buying her cigs all the time, although I guess that balances out since the other one lets me smoke her black and milds :/

I doubt I could take them. If 8 little kids can take me down, I think two girls about a quarter my size would have no problem beating me up.

Driving seems so..hard. I tried it once, months ago, and its something I never want to do again. x) Difficult stuff.

No public transportation around?...
I know here there are buses that go everywhere... I still typically drive for groceries though seeing as I hate having to wait for the bus to get to my apt. then waiting once I'm done shopping.

Pittsburgh's buses don't run often late on a saturday... in fact during the busiest time on a saturday where I was one bus would show up every 2 hours.

I couldn't survive without my truck. Sounds like it's time for a rolly cart to carry groceries in to me. That sucks that they couldn't come pick you up, but good for you for getting groceries for them.

if they are asking you for help... but wont help you... then i dont think they classify as friends.

but getting a car... will bring on a whole group of new "friends" you never even knew you had lol

Driving isn't so bad. I started driving at age18 but did not feel safe enough getting my license until 24. Now I could not imagine not driving. I don't really like walking much alone b/c I am in a new city with newpeople and there are people around who'll jump you at knifepoint.

Pacifica is a really neat little town. I had people there long ago and wish they still lived there.

Hmm I drive a 350Z and I could probably carry more groceries than I could fit in the trunk lol. But driving will give you a different crowd of friends for sure.

LOL so true. You turn into a taxi cab for a while but you find out whos just using you when you ask for gas money and they stop calling you for rides. lol.

When I was in highschool I wanted a car more then anything and then I learned to drive and got a car and it sucked. People use you all the time and gas sucks. Me and my brothers use to just take our bikes everywhere
