The media didn't demonize a burm... in Florida!? They stuck to the real issue of simply not having a permit. I'm proud of them, maybe they aren't ALL bad?

That was a good video. Finally they are putting responsibility on the OWNERS for not having permits and proper caging.

But did you guys catch that... 7 RABBITS in one day... isn't that a bit much!?

It did seem like it had a pretty nice temperament in letting all those people handle it.

I wonder if that weight is like most fishing stories.....slightly exaggerated.

7 rabbits for that snake is not too may bunnies.

Still and all, a much better presentation of giants than we usually see.

That right there is exactly why I will not buy a burm. Granted they don't all get that big but they all have the potential. Very nice looking snake. I wish they would have emphasized how calm the snake was considering there's 20 people poking and prodding him. lol.

    She is absolutely beautiful!!!

My husband and I are in the process of contacting FWC about taking her. We would love to have her and we would not breed her.

:O Wow, now I feel sorry for burm owners for the food bills! That's crazy. Must be pretty awesome to watch it suck them all down though.

either way, that was a very thick burm, especially for an 18 footer. It looks like an overfed snake. I have no doubt that this was an especially heavy burm.

oh yes it was well fed but if it was 400 lbs you wouldnt see a few guys picking it up without straining

They only replayed the same B-Roll about 6 times.

I wanted to see some different video, but other than that, it was a much weaker strike on the hobby and did not put a bad light on the animal as much as other news stories.

18ft - 400 pounds just doesn't sound right to me. I know burms can get over 20ft and I think 400 pounds is a bit much. Does anyone know the heaviest burm's weight?

Our rabbit bill per month just about makes me cry but they are worth it!!! It is awesome to watch them eat but the end result is not so pretty and very very stinky!!!!

I hope the owner can get his snake back.
After 16 years, I am sure he cares for it very much.

I did not see the enclosure, but the snake looks well cared for, and healthy.
Maybe he can take it to another state, or has, or can get his ROC Permit, and comply with housing standards.

At first I didn't think it was possible either but when they said it was 30 inches around. I believe it. I'm 6'-3" with a 36" waiste and I'm 220.

We have a 17 foot female burm... she weighs just under 200lbs. She's not nearly as plump as that one was but I'd guess it was probably 250, not 400.

I also feel bad for the owner. His set up wasn't perfect but he's had the snake for 16 years and you can just imagen the feeding bill if he's feeding that snake 7 rabbits in 1 feeding! Also I read in another article that he thought since he had the snake before the permitting laws came out he could grandfather the snake so its sad becuase he misunderstood the law and I wouldn't say it's entirely his fault. Also it stinks because he was in the process of moving to. In the other article it did mention how docile the snake was too saying that in was very calm and used to people so it was easy to work with. I hope the owner can work something out and get his snake back though.
