Jerhart..... gotta know...
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
Of course its normal, us Chiefs fans knew we would be 0-3 in the preseason. As far as Cassels, maybe its some sick twisted revenge plan since KC took out Brady last year :O
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
Eh....I agree with the 0-3 thought. I am disappointed about Cassel in that he only made it to the 3rd play! He was the player I was looking forward to watching last nite.
Luckily the xrays came back negative and he was able to walk off the field himself. So I am not worried about the injury threatening his season.
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
I just wish the Bills would get a decent qb. I watched Trent Edwards and omg, he royally sucks.
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
yeah doesn't look to be too serious... but, ya never know. ;)
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
ugh...
From PFT:
Cassel MCL sprain, ankle injury confirmed
Posted by Mike Florio on August 30, 2009 9:40 PM ET
We reported earlier tonight that the earlier indications regarding the injury to the lower "extremity" of Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel pointed to a sprained MCL and a sprained ankle.
Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, citing an unnamed source within the Chiefs' organization, reports that it's indeed an MCL sprain.
Cole says that Cassel will miss 2-4 weeks, suggesting that it's a Grade II sprain.
Cole also confirms that Cassel suffered an ankle injury, which isn't regarded as serious.
That sucks for me! :) But let's get real. We play the Ravens IN Baltimore Week 1. We have the worst O-line in football. This may be a good thing that Cassel is missing this game. :P
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
the 'funniest' part is that my two fantasy QB's are Cassel and Matthew Stafford! ah!

Well 'hopefully' he will only miss week 1. Then week 2 is the Chiefs home opener against the Raiders. The Saints just threw up 31 pts in the 1st half this week against the Raiders. I know the Chiefs are far from the Saints, but hopefully if Matt comes back, he can feed off the crowd during a home opener under a new management/coaching regime and pick apart Oakland. It would be good for the both of us bro! :gj:
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
I hope Cassel stays healthy. Tyler Thigpen tore up the Chargers last year!

Ugh...that won't happen again. All Chiefs fans are hoping Brodie Croyle gets the nod. Thigpen has been looking horrible this preseason.
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
i want him to be healthy strictly so i can see if last year was a fluke or the real deal... i'm thinking the real deal, rather than a product of the system.
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
Chiefs still need a defense.

Actually our defense has improved greatly compared to our offense. We switched to a 3-4. We need a NT and a couple good pass rushers. But our 1st team defense held Adrian Peterson and the Vikings to a few yards the 1st quarter of the 2nd week.
Our o-line is embarrassing. This is what needs attention.

Let's not forget that your starters don't really try in the pre-season. Why possibly injure yourself in a game that doesn't count for anything?

That's silly.
You are more likely to get injured if you are not giving it your all by someone who is giving it there all. Ask Brett Favre how is ribs are doing.
AND
Preseason is where players earn starting jobs, or just a spot on the roster. Do you really think the starters are going to slack and give someone a chance to take their spot?
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
What's up with the Chiefs firing their offensive coordinator so close to the season? KC always plays the Chargers tough. No matter who they field, I won't chalk it up as a victory, especially in KC.

I know it came as a shock to everyone. Ya know we have 2 offensive TD's in 3 games. That could have something to do with it. Todd Haley did call the plays for the NFC champs last year, so I am sure Chan Gailey was doing all sorts of things wrong in Haley's book. So Haley is going to take over play calling duties. We will see!

You really think Adrian Peterson has anybody to worry about stealing his starting RB job? The good players that know their spots are safe will not try as hard or put in the effort that somebody trying to gain a starter spot would. People like AP won't have their starter spots challenged.

NO...but I KNOW that he gives it his all when he plays. I am saying the notion you are trying to get across that starters don't try their hardest during preseason games is silly. I don't think AP was jogging on his 75 yard TD run nor was he hitting the holes lightly.
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
Don't get me wrong, they try, just not their hardest. It's not worth getting hurt in a preseason game. I know 3 people that play in the NFL, and 2 of them are starters. I'm just going off of what I was told.

I'll say this then...
The Chiefs defense stuffed Adrian Peterson and held the Minnesota offensive to a few yards without even trying their hardest.
Re: Jerhart..... gotta know...
I'm sure the chiefs are all going out for it, because of the team not really having a good defense, everybody is trying their hardest for a starting spot. ;)
