Southern Pacific Rattlesnake and a Skull
A friend of mine went herping last week here in Southern California and he came back with what we believe to be a Southern Pacific Rattlesnake.

Anyway, here he is hiding in a human skull (fake skull of course):

    Thanks for checking it out.

As far as I know, you cannot sale native species, but they are not illegal to own.

As far as the real human skull, I am pretty sure thats highly illegal. Heh.

Brandon, he's from Kentucky. Who knows how many skulls he has in his yard? I mean, doesn't everyone in the south have a secret cemetery of hitch hikers and revenuers in their yard?

it's far from illegal. GA and TN have some restrictions, but the other 48 states are ok with it. like i said, i can get you one, but they aren't cheap.

    Sounds like you're legal.

"A current California freshwater sportfishing fishing license is needed to take, or collect, reptiles and amphibians in California, except for rattlesnakes, which are not protected by law"

I could be and most likely am wrong on this but I thought you still needed a permit to own hots in cali. Never been too interested in them so I am not sure.

Lets not go making fun of someone who is encouraging the respect for law and proper collecting and keeping of herps.
    Matt, good point.
