    Upgrading Water Dishes
Because all my snakes think its funny to tip their water bowls on a regular basis, I'm going to upgrade all their water bowls to the heavy ceramic ones. I was wondering what sizes I should get for all of them. I have snakes as little as 450g and my largest female is around 1600g. Should I vary the sizes for all of them or just get a uniform size? I don't think any of my snakes soak since I make sure humidity stays up, especially for shedding time. I have 10 dishes to get. I know it is cheaper to use plastic containers for water dishes but I'm having to change everyone's tub just about every other day because of tipped dishes. That is a lot of newspaper to go through.

i get ceramic dishes from a variety of places:

    - petsmart/co
    - reptile shows
    - reptile stores
    - dollar stores

the dollar stores usually have "ceramic pet dishes" in various sizes. I actually went to my local dollar store and picked up another 4 just so id have them. There is like a 4'' accross, 2 inch deep and a 5 in accross and 3 inch deep. i can take pics if you want

I will check a few places but I'm wondering if I should get different sizes for all my snakes (and if so what sizes for each snake?) or if I should get just one standard size since my snakes don't actively soak themselves.

That is what I'm looking for! Do you use a particular size for each sized snake or just one size?

you can buy ceramic bowls at tractor supply too if you cant find them at the dollar store. If your looking for only one size I would get the biggest bowl i could fit in the smallest tub i have.

I use ceramic bowls now, too, because my snakes also love watching Mom refill their water bowl every other day. >.<

I do use different sizes for different age/size snakes, but they're not all that different. Little ones for the babies and medium-sized ones for juvies and adults. Big ones are great for not having to refill as often, but I like having to refill them fairly frequently. It keeps me from slacking off and not cleaning out their water bowls as often as I should. :)

Don't laugh but I buy all my water bowls from the Dollar Tree. They sell a few sizes in dog water bowls which I have all 3 differnt sizes and also from time to time they care ceramic bowls in 2 sizes and I get them also. Smart shop'n is how I see it, and with over 100 snakes saving money does help. As long as dog, cat, and fish print don't bother you these bowls work great. I also use deli cups for all my baby snakes.

the doller tree seems like the way to go, no matter how many snakes you have.

I use the 4" ones, but they are a little small. They are good if you life in places with high humidity though, like here in south florida. :)

Ive always wondered though, what if my snakes want to soak, just for the hell of it and they dont have a big dish for it? :(

I wouldnt know how far are you from one, but Dollar Stores would be the way to go, that's if you want to save the money.

Glass and Ceramic bowls, dog bowls, other types of bowls....Bowls Bowls Bowls!

Its definitely worth a place checking out before making any other purchases...
