nice suprise

well about 4 years ago i got a pair of pastels from a friend. this year she laid 2eggs. i had my fingers crossed for two super pastels
they both came out today and are both males. i was suprised when i saw them

so your two pastels are also het albino? SWEET! I'm not really good on picking out pastel albinos, but yours seems to be a pastel albino (with the really white head). I'd get a few expert opinions.

If i were to take a shot at it i'd say thats just a pastel albino, from the little bit of orange blushing in the white...if it were a super pastel albino it would have more orange blushing in the white im guessing? idk...just a theory

I think NERD have/do produce a fair few pastel and super pastel albinos. Might be worth seeing if one of those guys will let you bother them for a minute.

Congrats on a killer surprise! Those parents are power house breeders. I see a lot of people here saying the albino is either a pastel or super, but I thought pastel albinos had yellow heads? It will be obvious once he sheds a couple of times, but can someone explain what makes them think it's a pastel or even a super pastel albino? I don't know if I've ever seen one in person, and I definitely haven't seen very many pictures of pastel albinos, so it very well might be a pastel, but I don't see anything that indicates anything other than albino.

If you can't get any definite answers on if its a superpastel albino or pastel albino bred him to a normal when he is big enough and you will have your answer.

I'd definitely look at picking up a couple albino females.

thanks i do plan on breeding him back to the mom and to a few normals. i am also keeping a few babies that he male produced with a some normals there are still 9 eggs left to hatch from the dad to a normal female.. here are the other babies he produced. all 5 are females
