New WoW expansion announced - Cataclysm

Instead of making a new world, they are instead just revamping the old ones! Gilneas is open and I could have sworn I saw Hyjal in that video, but who knows. New races are Goblins for Horde and Worgen for Alliance. Level cap raised to 85. Flying mounts in Kalimdor and EK. I'm just curious how one would level a character from 1 with all the changes in the landscape.

Anyone else excited about this, or is everyone too distracted by upcoming Diablo 3 and SC2... lol.

I'm totally uninterested in WoW.

The only MMORPGs I liked were older ones.. Ultima Online was by FAR the best ever (though its current incarnation isn't as good as it used to be).

I'm definitely much more excited about Diablo 3 and SC2.

<33 I've been playing wow for 4 years or something, maybe 5. I met my BF on wow, i'm super excited for the next xpac.

Any ideas on possible release dates?

According to this, release date is supposed to be October 2010. But really it's too early to tell for sure.

So many cool things in this expansion. Heroic Deadmines and SFK - yay! And Desolace is no longer so depressing.

And I think I saw Old Ironforge in that video!! Finally!

i have all wyas like WOW but never relay played it since i never want to buy a memebership card. I only played the online trial which was fun but i wish i could get more. how much does a pre paid card cost for WOW if they have one. Also how good is the game?

I am so excited to start playing again!

Wow, that sounds pretty awesome. I used to go exploring old Ironforge all the time using the polymorph glitch to get through the wall. Yea, that's right... I play WoW, have been for years!!! I play a hunter on Malygos... even got a big bad cobra named Cuppycake as my pet!!!

a prepaid card is $30 which pays for 2 months time. Also now i saw they have online payments with a bit of a discount if you pay for multiple months. I have mine so it just monthly withdraws from my account. It's a very good game, in my opinion. That's why it's the most played game there is. Some people get so addicted though that it can literally destroy lives, which is sad, but true. I have been playing since it originally came out and it used to be way different, a real challenge and a major PITA to level!!! Now, they have put everything regarding leveling basically on easy mode... LOL!!! Even the instances and raids are easier. And it used to take you hours or even days to get attuned so that you could even join certain raids. Not as much of that anymore... it just kinda sucks knowing how hard i worked for my crap back in the day and now everything is waaayyy easier!!!

man! i used to play WoW, but everytime i tried to dl a patch, i would get disconnected when i entered a big city =(. since then, i quit lol

just uninstalled it, then canceled. oh well, miss WoW

Yeah it looks awesome was checking it out last week. Gonna be weird when they remodel everything. Desolace turns into a jungle like un goro crater, and Badlands is all lava ish was getting tired of the same old stuff I wish they would have waited for the preview though, I mean a whole year is just torture.

ohhh i cant wait to play!!! Is anyone on arathor alliance? I prefer horde...but I made a gnome mage as a joke..and ended up playing a bit, and its all I enjoy playing now lol..so im stuck with silly gnome, and alliance until the faction switch enables :D Creeptaztik on arathor

Flying is Azeroth alone is exciting enough to me.

Very exciting. I just started WoW this year. Can't wait to be able to fly in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdom.

I've played wow for about 4 years. I started raiding right before BC came out. Raided all the way through BC, and retired once WotLK came out. Then started back up again, cuz I couldn't just sit and watch my BF down all these new bosses!

I recently got super burned out on the game due to our guild working on Yogg-Saron for over 2 months and STILL not being able to kill him. I think it's been 3 months now, and they have yet to down him. I still play casually, log in every couple days or so. The new expansion looks fun, but not enough to make me want to go hardcore again. I think the new races look stupid, and the new classes races can be. I mean, a Troll Druid? Gnome Priest? Night Elf MAGE?! It just doesn't fit right!

Maybe, just maybe I'll renew for this new expansion to see what it's like. But hopefully, I'll be happy with playing Aion.

Well after 8 years on EQ i started WoW and fell in love all over again :) If anybody is on Ghostland server look me up my main is an 80 Priest named Gravelord he is Holy Disc spec. Come by and say hi :rolleye2:

Guys, WoW is dead. Aion is the new WoW ... get with the times. ;)

Aion had potential. But it's basically a WoW clone with better graphics but not as good gameplay.

Well, it still in beta so maybe they'll fix it up and may not just be WoW ripoff + Soul Calibur graphics.

Yeah, Aion won't be as good as wow. Blizzard perfected that game, but IMO, now they're just ruining it. Making the game way too easy... Unless you're on a complete crap server like I was, lol.

The beta is cool. My BF can sit and play Aion for hours where as I can only play for about 1-2 and lose interest. Now with wow, if I chose to, I could go sit and play for 8 hours straight!
