hybridizing dumeril with a redtail?
I was told by somebody selling their dumerils that they can crossbreed with redtails. is this true? i have no intension of it, i just didnt believe it to be possible. im aware of the trans-continent python hybrids, but never boas.
Re: hybridizing dumeril with a redtail?
It is possible but retarded.

Yes, retarded.
Much like making a statement so foolish that only the developmentally disabled are likely to agree.
But I reckon you know more about that than I.

I'm in the seventh grade lol.But i didn't feel like writing anything.
Re: hybridizing dumeril with a redtail?
why is it retarded? do the offspring turn out with low survival rate? or are they usually deformed? or do u just disagree with all hybrids in general?
Re: hybridizing dumeril with a redtail?
A lot of people don't agree with hybridizing animals, no matter what species they are. They believe its "playing god" or something similar. There are probably other reasons as well.
Personally I'm on the fence about it. On one side I see no problem breeding two snakes with desired traits together as long as it is done responsibly, but on the other I see it as would these snakes breed in the wild? Probably not. So I'm still undecided.
As far as deformities and problems, there is always the risk, but I'm not sure what others have found when breeding these two species together. I'm not sure if its even been done.

I don't agree with hybridizing birdman.

People are all the same species. There are no subspecies of Homo sapiens, only racial variations.

Yes it is very possible... I dont see why you would want to, because the dumerils and red tail are two beautiful species themselves... And probably wouldn't make the best looking snake together lol Plus there are already localities being crossed, and now people sometimes dont even know what locality their animal is, so why make it anymore confusing by mixing up subspecies?

Re: hybridizing dumeril with a redtail?
the point of hybrids is all about bragging rights and money. sure come 'cool' animals are made, but there really is no reason to create hybrid snakes.
and please don't confuse hybrids w/ intergrades.
