Ball Python's chew toy?

This is not a feeding mistake nor a defensive strike, just one of those bizarre moment when I handle one of my snake and all of the sudden the said snake slowly open it’s mouth and start chewing one me. :rolleye2:

WAIT!!!! that happened to me too!!! i was holding my pinstripe, and she rested her head on my thumb, then slowly put her mouth around my thumb!! i got scared LOL, but she was making her way to teh tip of my thumb! but she didnt flinch, or anything when i moved her, i still held her tho.

i didnt kno how to explain it. i wasnt moving at all, i didnt feed ANY animals, was wearing different clothes, and was just chillin on the forum XD

Great pic, maybe that's his/her way of giving you a kiss and telling you that they love you.:)

That has got to be one of the greatest pictures of all time..

We've had two Brook's Kingsnakes at the store that did that to me...for some reason I find it adorable :D Never happened with a Ball, though, that makes it even cuter!!

She misses her baby bottle.....:P Beautiful snake by the way!

My rosy did this to me too. She was so slow about it lol. I was like... What are you doing? Are you about to bite me? But no, just felt like gnawing on me for a second lol. It was pretty funny

You know, I had this same thing happen to me, but in a different way.

I was laying on my couch playing Xbox or watching tv and all of a sudden I feel this weird tickle-ish feeling on my arm pit and I look down and Candice is trying to put her mouth around my arm pit somehow and I was thinking, "Well, that's kind of odd?"

Its cute when its a baby. Try it with a full grown 2000 g female. I was holding her talkin about how she doesnt bite and she slowly just took a bite a wrapped around. I mean like, placed her lips on me and slowly chomped. Pain in the butt to get her off

Funny are this old picture (2009) made it's way back to the top, still one of my favorite it was the first pied I produced along with it's 3 clutch mate.

I didn't even notice the date! I had no idea I'd gone that far back in the archives!

My year old male does this to me almost everytime I hold him. Usually on my wrist or forearm. It's not a feeding response or a defensive strike, he just opens his mouth and bites.

Anybody know why they do this?
