Boaphile 421d available on Craigslist. Looking for feedback.
Hey all, I've decided to upgrade my enclosures and equipment before buying adding a new snake to the family...

Anyway, there's a Boaphile 421d on Craigslist in fantastic shape.
The seller is asking $225 or b/o.
Comes with flexwatt installed on one side.

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger. Thoughts???

I’ve done tanks and I’ve done enclosures. Enclosures are always going to be easier for temps and humidity. Seems like a decent price, but again it’s hard to say without a picture. Either way best of luck. And Happy New Year

It looks brand new in the pics in the ad. I've emailed back and forth a bit and he said it's in fantastic shape.

Dude I’m an enabler. I got some health issues. So I’m far from rich, lmao. I know you want more snakes, I know you know your way around a tank. But there is something sweet to a dedicated snake enclosure. I’ve always used a big humidifier. Sometimes I wish I started back up with enclosures. So if it makes you happy, and it’s in good condition.

I constantly check CL for used enclosures. If I were in your area that one would no longer be for sale.

I used tanks for years. After getting my first PVCs I knew the remaining tanks would eventually be history, and of course they are now!

Jump on it, or you will regret it after someone else does. :)

    Thanks for the thoughts all...
I emailed him back this morning, I'm pretty sure I'm grabbing it.

My biggest reservation is the 12" height. I've read many threads on this forum that mention the height making it tough to clean. Any thoughts there?

    Hehehe, me too!

I'm on a budget, so deciding to upgrade equipment before adding another snake makes sense right now.

That’s exactly what I went through. I had to use a lot of willpower and not add anymore snakes until everyone had their forever homes first.

So glad I did it that way. Otherwise I never would have caught up.

    Best of luck!

Oh yeah, for easier cleaning, just place the cage so it is just a bit below eye level.

I have some 421's. They are not bad to clean as long as they are not on the bottom of the stack. Anything deeper than 24" gets difficult without more height though.

Its worth $100 if in good shape. They are thin (1/8th) cheap junk. My Thread is about 3 down from yours. I had to PVC Glue my entire enclosure back together and I have the new style enclosure not the old. For $100 i wouldnt mind having to glue it and use Silicone on the inside to prevent leaks.
Dont press hard around the edges when cleaning the inside or the back will blow out like the cheap backing of an old entertainment center. I only realized when my Burm pissed and it was all running down the back of the Boaphile base that I got with mine. There is a pic in my thread. Also the plexiglass doors get all scratched. I should of stuck with what I new and eayed for another AP. When I called the owner at Boaphile he wasnt surprised. He Told me to glue it back together. I thought he was joking!!! Also the top of mine is bowing in because of my RHP panel so now the door gets stuck when i close it.
    Boaphile.
