Feeding night - live feed warning
So it was feeding night, unfortunately, I have to feed live to my inferno, won't take ft anymore. Also getting some meals in my new het clown girls from garrick. I personally don't like feeding live and don't do it for the fun of it, but sometimes has to be done. Kiddo wanted to keep them, but he learned the circle of life tonight, so it was an educational night also.

Lol, looks big on camera for sure, but a good size for her, slightly thicker than she was.

I think those mice are about the perfect size for those snakes. FYI I would never feed an adult rat to a ball python, the biggest rat I feed live is about 80-100 grams and that's for my big 2500 + gram girls. A rodent bigger than that and I euthanize and feed fresh killed. I want to make sure the snake has enough strength to easily overcome the rodent. I actually prefer to feed all of my adult mice as fresh killed too (euthanized with CO2). Mice at that size have much bigger teeth than a rat of the same size, a rat that size is so young it barely has his eyes open, it's pretty harmless. Adult mice could do some damage if you feed unsupervised, especially if the snake doesn't get a good hold on the rodent. Although I do feed live jumbo mice to some of my female breeders if they are being picky, but an adult mouse is no match for a 2500 gram ball python!

Hopefully these transition over to FT like the rest of mine. Like i said, i dont like feeding live, but some snakes are very set in what they want. If I have to I will, but I'll be hovering with tongs ready jump in if need be.

Ok .. I'm just conscious that it's easy moving from thawed to LIVE but maybe not as easy moving back ..

Yeah, it's definitely not as easy to go to FT from live. The little inferno in the video, won't take ft anymore, doesn't matter how much I zombie dance or warm the mice/rats for him. He will strike and wrap but won't eat after he constricts it. Live feeder tho he will eat as soon as he unwraps.

I feed randomly, no set time of the day or night

They are nocturnal of course but I've got a Pastel Royal that would probably eat 24/7 X 365 ...
