    Considering getting a RTB
I know the basic care and health sheet info, I'm curious though as to what you guys and gals house your reds in. I'm looking for dimensions basically. I want to make sure I get the correct setup ready and going for when I finally to get one.

    Thanks

Most Red tails are housed in 41 qt tubs until they out grow them. By the time they out grow it they will be ready for a 4x2x2 which will last them majority of their life. Only larger females will need larger housing.

Thanks for the quick reply. Thats what I was figuring as far as a tub.

41 qt sterilte tubs in a rack is top notch as far as room for the snakes and cost effectiveness. I currently have an 8 shelf rack that is very space friendly and is comfortably housing 5 boas and a ball python. Here is when I first built it.

Cost was well under $200 without factoring in the herpstat. Cheap, effective, escape proof and enough froom for the boa for the first 2-3 years depending on the animal. I have an 07 in there with plenty of room to spare yet.

Basically stuff like this is an excuse to get a bunch of snakes as something like this won't take up any more room than one of those big glass monstrosities on a stand.

I use 41 qt until there about 4-5ft and then switch to PVCX cages. Most breeders only move females into cages but I like to be a kinder person and give me animals room! (Not to say a tub is a bad choice for a red tail to live it's whole life in but it's a personal decision I made.)

I hope to keep my males small enough to where I won't need to move them into Boaphiles but all my females will be regardless of size. If the OP is just getting a single snake then he might just want to get a boaphile right off the bat and be done with it. Never have to buy anything else and it'll last as long as the snake easy.

41qt racks when they are small and I move all my adults into 4x2x19 boamaster cages. I have a couple 4 ft. boaphiles with the extendable ends just in case a couple get too cramped I can make the cages into 6 or 8 footers.

I keep my RTB in a 20 gallon long tank. Hes only a little guy but he seems comforable.

20L is fine for awhile. My chunker 08 Ball Python is bigger than my 08 DH male and she's fine in the 20L I have her in.
