    Getting into the morphs
So I am new to these fourms, but not reptiles. Anyways I was looking into getting my first balls in the next couple of months ( just want to now what I am doing, I mean I want to do best by the pythons). anyways my girlfriend stepped in and said she would like to be part as well as breed them. To start we were looking at a super pastel M, a Bumble bee F as well as a pewter F. So question is, is this a good place to start for breeding. any help would be great thanks:gj:

    :welcome: to BP.net!

If those are the morphs you like, and you've done your research on husbandry, breeding, costs and are are ready, I think they're great morphs!
    Gotta start somewhere!
    Good Luck!

If you're buying those females young, you could hold off on buying the super pastel male and either buy another female or invest it in your rack/thermostat etc..

    Agreed

Start getting your females first, they take a lot longer to mature sexually than males.

The morphs you're looking at are real nice, I'd skip the super pastel male and get a third female instead. Then next season pick up a male, possibly a designer morph with 2 dom/co-dom genes, that way you'll have some real power breeding potential:gj:

Thanks for the help all though I do have another question, What morph would you get for the next female, I was thinking a mojave or a lesser platinum. But yes, to think of it this way is an awsome idea (hold out on the male for a year).:gj::snake:

I would honestly say for the 3rd female look into Fires, or possibly something recessive (ie Piebald or Albino). This way you increase your morph range that much farther. :gj:

something you will see on this forum all the time : do your reasearch and do what YOU like. personally i love the lessers and all the combos that go with them. so i have a lesser male and pastel, pin, and spider to hopefully go with him one day :-).

if you can't figure out what you like, i think its a good idea to go with pattern morphs like pin or spider or go with clean up morphs like pastels and fires because once you figure out what you like, usually you can use them to eigher make cool patterns or clean up the morph.

a super pastel to a fire would give you 50% fireflys (fire pastels) and 50% pastels

Save up a little money and buy a double co-dom or anything that is double morph female!
